| | Lemurs CD Lemurs Discography of CDs
Having seen the Lemurs consistently put on better and better performances in Austin clubs for over a year, itâs about time thereâs a record to pump at home. The band consists of top-quality musicians who thankfully donât shy away from a complicated and layered approach to songwriting. While the album is full of hooks and addictive melodies, most songs on the record go beyond the normal pop constructions and incorporate funked-out instrumental breakdowns that really elevate the Lemurs several cuts above the rest of the dance-ready indie powerpop groups out there. With its deep headbop beats, overdriven synths, interlaced guitar melodies, dark velvet vocals, and fabulously chaotic electro-funk explosion, âBerlin,â a crowd favorite at live shows, is probably among the top ten singles coming out of Austin. Another stand-out track, âThey Do What They Like,â features pleading, Cure-esque vocals and fuzzy twang, surf-rock guitar riffs building on staccato rhythm breaks to create a noir dance anthem. The bandâs self-titled debut fits somewhere between an EP and a full-length, but it contains a couple of real gems that will find good homes on party and road-trip compilations; and makes me curious about their next effort.-Anatol Ziege Lemurs Music | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs | | Label | Lemurs | | Orig Year | 2006 | | CD Universe Part number | 7354873 | | Catalog number | 112278 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Nov 14, 2006 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo |

Lemurs CD music
$14.38 The latest album from Swedish doom rockers Katatonia, their first studio effort since 2006, is as moody and beautiful as their other latter-day work. The group's career can be marked in two stages based on the condition of singer Jonas Renske's vocal cords -- basically, after the band's first two albums, he developed health problems that prevented him from performing harsh death growls, and ever since the band has moved in an increasingly melodic direction, even ...

This is back to the madness of Freak Out, with more pop and doo-wop bursting through all the complicated stuff, letting you know that Zappa could write a hit single, if he could be bothered to do so. $9.75 Johnny Rhino is a composer/musician who like to involve others in the making of his music. Thus the name Johnny Rhino Project for the albums created. The Rhino is very comfortable in a variety of musical styles and writes accordingly. Whether it is a remake of a traditional folk tune such as Codine, a pop ballad like Kathy, a blues like Tired of the Blues, jazzy like Smooth It Out, or experimental like Resurrection, The Rhino is not afraid to give it a unique style. When you listen you can almost see what you are hearing. Check out some of the songs.RESURRECTION is a tone poem on Jesus return to earth. No small feat. TIRED OF THE BLUES was inspired by the days when the poor Rhino had to sing blues songs with bands for twenty minutes to kill time. Pam Martinez is not killing time singing this song. My Anodyne begins âThe Inside EPâ with the evocative voice of a man pondering whether he has been âholding on too tightâ to what has long been âin [his] sight.â In a voice that sends shivers down the spine, he expresses the difficulty of letting go when âwe all have demons that make ...
