Wisemen Approaching Music Wisemen Approaching Songs Wisemen Approaching Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) Incredible Bronze Nazareth has help put out another solid Hip Hop classic. I still listen to Think Differently (which is hot to death), and combined with this they are two of the best joints in years. And the CD cover artwork is just ill. Wisemen Approaching music CDs
$13.39 The job of putting background beatscapes to the Spike TV martial arts anime miniseries AFRO SAMURAI, which stars the voice of Hollywood badazz Samuel L. Jackson, is a project worthy of one man alone. And as expected, the abbot of the Wu-Tang Clan rises to the occasion, laying down a slew of characteristically moody yet epic instrumental tracks, along with a share of blazing vocal cuts. The list of diverse MCs includes Q-Tip, Free Murder, the GZA, and Talib Kweli, as well as a line-up of peripheral Wu affiliates such as the Black Knights, True Master, 60 Second Assassin, and Suga Bang. Perhaps the hottest track comes courtesy of Big Daddy Kane who flips some of his classic lines from the Juice Crew era into a memorable hook on the inspired cut, "Cameo ...
| | Hell Razah Renaissance Child CD (2007)
Wisemen Approaching songs
$13.15 Having made his mark as part of the Wu-Tang affiliated group Sunz of Man, Hell Razah branches out with his own solo release RENAISSANCE CHILD. With a tight underground flow and a barrage of ghetto-life imagery informed by Gnostic philosophy, Hell Razah's sound is evocative of the Wu in its heyday ("I play your skeleton bones like it's a xylophone/For that money my mummy's strapped with a ...

| | Restiform Bodies CD (2002)
Wisemen Approaching CD music
$14.75 Shattering the expectations of modern hip-hop and presenting a jagged, oddball debut, the Restiform Bodies are one of the most distinct voices in the genre. No other rap albums in 2002 presented a dreamy avant-garde synth instrumental and then traveled through a dense landscape of fuzzy noises and old-school percussion just to change gears and embrace the corpse of early-'80s new wave. And certainly none of them had the gall to do it all within the first six minutes. But the Restiform Bodies are far more Sonic Youth than Eminem, unafraid of experimentation and change in a genre dictated by a small set of mainstream producers. This is music that welcomes innovation and abstract thought, from the unbelievable production to the thin-voiced beat poetry of rappers Passage and Telephone Jim Jesus. Their raps create an icy distance from the listener via creative wordplay and weird subject matter, but their complicated rhymes are an excellent counterpart to the production from the Bomarr Monk and Agent Six. Their approach to the tracks is comparable to Dan the Automator being set loose in a Sam Goody with a handful of psychedelics, with just about any genre that can be twisted into a ...

| | Afu-Ra Perverted Monks CD (2004)
Wisemen Approaching songs
$11.49 Three albums into his solo career, Afu-Ra retains a large portion of the twisted genius he displayed while playing the boy wonder to Jeru the Damaja's crusader on Jeru records of the mid-'90s (in fact, even more than Jeru has). For Perverted Monks, he recruited three sidemen of his own (Solar Monk, Aqua Monk, and Caged Monk) along with some hot but anonymous producers, all done on a shoestring budget that puts the music first (and finds album design coming in dead last). Still a bit scattered with his interests, Afu-Ra and his crew try on all sorts of hats -- alternative rap, gangsta, dirty rap, ragga, digital Dirty South crunk -- but mostly stay close to home ...
