Translator's signature song, "Everywhere That I'm Not," a sweet slice of new wave guitar pop mourning the loss of John Lennon, is included here, along with nine other tracks that simultaneously celebrate love and alienation; naturally, it was critically embraced during the post-punk era. The recording is a completely apt portrayal of the San Francisco guitar band sound from the era -- shrouded in darkness and masked with a perky new wave drum sound. ~ Denise Sullivan

Heartbeats And Triggers Music Translator Heartbeats And Triggers Songs Heartbeats And Triggers Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) timely 80s rock a very good effort. a little bit of punk , gothic ,solid rock a 80s version of revoler. this was a very good over looked band. One of the best albums of the eighties? You decide... This wasn't a very popular album in the eighties--just one low key single that charted a little bit--but with years of hindsite it might be one of the best albums released during that decade. Great playing, singing, and songwriting--and none of the awful sounding eighties production that sounds so dated now.
Beatles-influenced post punk might be the best way to describe it. And Steve Barton has an incredible singing voice. Submitted by davidcrouse (Fairbanks AK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Solid Debut Due to pop music's "flavor of the month" syndrome, Translator's debut album contained their only hit song ("Everywhere That I'm Not')and was their biggest selling record. They weren't the first (or last) artist to be victimized by this phenomenon. However, unlike many of their fellow victims, Translator did not peak creatively with their first record.
While this is a good/solid record, their other records are better, especially "No Time Like Now" and "Translator" (their 2nd & 3rd records) are better, so check them out. The remastering on this record is good, but no major highlights as far as the bonus tracks. Submitted by Ricardo (Austin, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Heartbeats And Triggers songs
$7.89 With the never-ending onslaught of Tigerbeat titles in 2003, one would think that eventually there would be an end to the impressive campaign, but evidently there isn't one in sight. Naturally, the label saves one of its best for last. After a long stint on the road during the summer/autumn of 2003 as part of Tigerbeat's annual "Paws Across America/Europe" tours with labelmates Kid 606 and DJ /rupture, Sodahberk wowed audiences with a blistering live set consisting of many of the tunes found on the appropriately titled Unfortunately. On this dark exercise ...

Heartbeats And Triggers music CDs
$10.15 Who? Where? What? Daniel Ouellette is a singer-performer from Massachusetts who has been performing his own divine original compositions of New Wave music for the past seven years. Daniel has remained underground gaining listeners and fans along the way. In this time, he had released 5 independent CDs that he offered through his website and at live performances. But now he is making a debut to a wider audience and has chosen to do things backwards by releasing a "Best of" of sorts:"Monsterland -The Revenge of Daniel" on his own Meannie Jeannie Records. RUN!!!Monsterland??? Is a collection of 15 songs from Daniel's CDs recorded over the past five years. How wonderful it is to have all of Daniel's favorite songs on one CD! It is rather ridiculous and foolish to start with a compilation. Which makes it the perfect way to open up to a wider audience. All of Daniel's favorite themes are here: Monster Movies, ...
