A live CD and documentary DVD that announced the launch of Madonna's CONFESSIONS tour, the aptly named THE CONFESSIONS TOUR, released in January 2007, presents the dazzling spectacle that tour entailed. Recorded live at London's Wembley Stadium, CONFESSIONS spins through a good deal of Madge's 2005 disco opus, CONFESSIONS OF A DANCE FLOOR, and finds the singer in excellent voice.
"Dancefloor" is the operative word for each of the album's 13 tracks, as even the tunes predating CONFESSIONS are treated with that album's thumping, glitzy vibe. Even old-school Madonna classics like "Lucky Star" and "Like a Virgin" fit into the pulsing, strobe-lit aesthetic, making the set a unified statement. The accompanying DVD raises the stakes further by revealing Madonna as a consummate entertainer whose stage show has been refined to perfection over the years. A must for Madonna fans, and a startling reminder of Madonna's vitality (after 25 years in the business), THE CONFESSIONS TOUR is a first-rate live document.
The first-ever broadcast network performance by superstar Madonna, which aired the night before Thanksgiving last year, is now available in a CD+DVD package that adds bonus behind-the-scenes footage. The Confessions Tour, filmed at Londons Wembley Arena during her worldwide sold-out 25-city Confessions Tour, features songs from throughout the dance divas career but largely focuses on her latest studio album, Confessions On A Dance Floor, which debuted #1 in the U.S. and is approaching 8 million copies sold around the world. The DVD features the complete 2-hour concert, including the uncensored version of Live To Tell plus four songs that didnt air on television.Entertainment Weekly (p.77) - "Madge displays her genius for eye-popping tableaux." -- Grade: B+ Madonna Confessions Tour Songs Confessions Tour Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Oa, Lord Oa,Lord Submitted by Lawrence_Simmons (wallingford,ct,usa) Was This Review Helpful? ¡Great! It’s worth every penny, her vocals are just amazing. I just have a couple of complaints:
- Many of the songs in the concert are edited more like a music video than a live performance with a lot of imagery sliced into shots of Madonna doing her stuff and that takes you away from the feel of a live concert; and
- What about “Confessions” being included in the live album, I paid to hear Madonna’s beautiful vocals, it may sound rude but I don’t care about what some dancers have to say about their once troubled lives, it’s a great performance when you see it live in the concert, Cloud, Sofia and Hypnosis give a good show but it’s really boring when just listening to the audio; and what about Sorry (Remix), personally I don’t like remixes, I think they “steal the soul” of the original versions, and just like Confessions it’s boring just listening to it, the live video is way better just because of the political message it has.
Those spaces could have been better utilized with other songs such as Live to Tell (that I 'm sure we all fans consider it is simply her greatest live performance in her entire career) and Drowned World, I know these two are ballads and that she wanted to “turn the world into a giant dance floor” and always asked everyone to “put their dancing shoes on” but these two gorgeous songs really prove that she is, beside The “Dancing Queen”, an astonishing singer with strong vocals, also these performances are really touching (and… you must know that she dedicates Substitute for Love to all of Us who have helped her reach the top).
Well, at least iTunes Store customers have Get Together and Ray of Light as bonus tracks to compensate it but what about us. Oh, I almost forgot, the bonuses the DVD includes are really bad, and let me tell you that I’m a huge fan and didn’t enjoy them at all, but what the heck, “she’ll make it up to us, doesn’t she always make it up to us?”
In case you want to know, I have to say that being Mexican I really didn’t feel offended about the whole crucifixion thing, and you know, México is one of the greatest Catholic/Christian countries and we Mexican people take Jesus Christ’s death seriously, but she really didn’t want to tease anyone, she just wanted to give a message that Jesus himself had given two thousand years ago and that’s exactly what she does, because you should know that “whatever you do for one of the least of our brothers you do it to God”.
Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to see Madonna perform live on this tour since I’m from México and, well, she hasn’t appeared here since 1993, we all fans really hope she’s coming soon to Latin America because, you know, it is not mentioned but Confessions On a Dance Floor reached #1 on albums chart lists here in México as well as in Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú and Uruguay, and now The Confessions Tour have reached again #1 here in México and Chile and #5 in Argentina and it keeps on raising in other countries, we’ve shown our support to her and we’ll keep on doing it, so we Latin fans, specially Mexican ones, are longing to see her perform live here in our country.

Best Experience Confessions Tour is one of the best live albums I've ever heard. Madonna rocked as always.
For me, it was her best tour and one of the best tours of the 2000's. Submitted by Irina (Ternopil, Ukraine) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Wow!... Originally a 2006 network TV special, the uncensored DVD shows why Madonna is an enduring icon. The show is first class, excellent camera work, creative editing, choreography, etc. Madonna is charming, sweet, pompous, preachy, etc... all in the same show. She has the shape of a woman half her age, really dances up a storm, and her erotic hip-grinding stripper/dance moves are magnetic. Probably her best live show to date... | | Madonna Confessions On A Dance Floor CD (2005)
Confessions Tour CD music
$11.49 1998's RAY OF LIGHT marked Madonna's move toward electronica, and a larger journey back to her dance-club roots. That journey was completed with 2005's CONFESSIONS ON A DANCEFLOOR. A collection of hardcore club tracks with few mainstream pop concessions, CONFESSIONS is packed wall-to-wall with driving, electronica-driven grooves.
Madonna has always been one of the reigning queens of postmodern alchemy, and this record is ...
| | Madonna I'm Going To Tell You A Secret CD (2006) With DVD
Confessions Tour music CDs
$18.29 I'M GOING TO TELL YOU A SECRET documents the entertainer's "Re-invention World Tour." Listeners would never guess that Madonna was closing in on 50 at the time of the tour: she performs with more authority and energy than ever, alternating new hits ("I Love New York" is from 2005's CONFESSIONS ON A DANCEFLOOR) with quintessential Madonna like "Into the Groove," "Like a Virgin," and "Holiday." A DVD containing a documentary about the tour and performance footage provides additional proof of Madonna's indisputable status as a legend.

| | Crystal Visions: The Very Best Of Stevie Nicks CD (2007) Includes Bonus DVD
Confessions Tour songs
$21.29 With her legacy obscured by tawdry tales of strange drugs in even stranger places, it is easy to forget that Stevie Nicks is a legend first and foremost for her music. Her formidable songwriting genius (she penned many of the most enduring Fleetwood Mac songs), her post-flower child mix of Mists of Avalon and Hollywood decadence, and her uniquely husky vibrato made her one of the planet's biggest rock stars from the mid 1970s through the mid '80s. Both with Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist, she practically lived at the top of the charts for a decade.
The collection also highlights some heretofore unheard chestnuts like the killer "Sorcerer" and a ripping live version of Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll," which show that despite the gypsy robes and candlesticks, Nicks could rock with the best of them.
This set covers the chanteuse's entire solo career. Featured are several previously unreleased live tracks on the CD as well as Stevie's voice-over commentary for each video and her artwork ...
| | Madonna Hard Candy CD (2008)
Confessions Tour album
$15.65 HARD CANDY continues in the driving, club-oriented vein of 2005's CONFESSIONS ON A DANCE FLOOR, proving that Madonna has lost none of her energy and verve with age. In terms of material, in fact, HARD CANDY bests its predecessor, and the artist continues to make herself relevant in the 2000s by adding distinctly hip-hop grooves to her increasingly electronica-driven sound. Remarkably, the result never sounds like a blatant ...

Confessions Tour CD music
$15.25 A single-disc, 25-track collection of the first and second waves of British punk, Give It Some Punk doesn't necessarily feature the best-known versions of the songs present -- some are live versions used due to licensing restrictions -- but it does hit a lot of the best-known groups (except most obviously for ...
| | John Prine Lost Dogs And Mixed Blessings CD (1995)
Confessions Tour music CDs
$13.69 LOST DOGS & MIXED BLESSINGS was nominated for a 1996 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
Veteran folksinger John Prine followed up his Grammy winning THE MISSING YEARS with the nearly-as-winning LOST DOGS AND MIXED BLESSINGS. Keeping Tom Petty and Heartbreakers' Howie Epstein in the producer's chair, Prine assembled a cast of similarly seasoned pros to lend a hand (fellow Heartbreaker Benmont Tench, Marianne Faithful, and Waddy Wachtel.) Perhaps bolstered by his recent commercial recognition, Prine beefed up the sound considerably with fuller band arrangements. While the augmented sound provides considerably more texture, the level of intimacy is somewhat diminished as a result.
Prine nonetheless comes up aces in more than a few places. The full-blown rock feel of "We Are The Lonely" chronicles the inherent lunacy of personal ads in a litany of absurd couplets. The album's crowning achievement is the stunning "Lake Marie," which features the most outwardly emotive vocals of his career. Besides, nobody else but Prine could use the chorus of "Louie Louie" as a metaphor for the dissolution of a relationship.
