The band on this disc--which includes bassist Christian McBride, drummer Steve Gadd, and keyboardist Joe Sample--is reason enough to take notice of FEELING GOOD, but that the session is fronted by vocalist Randy Crawford makes it impossible to overlook. Crawford hasn't lost any of the smooth, jazzy finesse that has characterized her style for so many years, and with the help of such fine company she has no problem shining on classic tracks such as "But Beautiful," "See Line Woman," and "Everybody's Talking." The level of musicianship and interplay is impressive throughout. FEELING GOOD, indeed.

| | Stan Getz Getz/Gilberto CD (1963)
Feeling Good CD music
$10.79 The record that started the bossa nova craze of the mid-'60s, GETZ-GILBERTO is a justly recognized classic. The disc's success is attributable to its spectacular personnel: the man who basically invented bossa nova, Antonio Carlos Jobim; the man who defined and perfected the genre, Joao Gilberto; his charmingly waifish-sounding wife, Astrud Gilberto; and American tenor saxophonist extraordinaire Stan Getz. Jobim plays guitar and piano; Getz provides remarkably lyrical, complementary lead lines, and Joao Gilberto plays and sings in Portuguese with the most understated, romantic, and artful vocal delivery imaginable. It's a hard combination to beat.
Opening track "The Girl From Ipanema," a breezy, infectious Jobim composition with vocals by both Joao and Astrud, became one of the biggest (and most recognizable) hits of the era, and the single most popular Brazilian tune in America. ...

Feeling Good music CDs
$12.39 I REMEMBER MILES won the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance.
This stunning album is Shirley Horn's loving tribute to her friend and colleague, the legendary late Miles Davis. Davis was so taken by Horn's first album EMBERS AND ASHES that he forced The Village Vanguard to let her virtually-unknown trio open for him during his 1961 run there. Their friendship and admiration for each other's music lasted through the years, and Shirley Horn's 1991 recording YOU WON'T ...

Feeling Good songs
$49.19 On the doorstep of 21, Moore's shift into adult-artist mode found her reinterpreting a wide array of classic pop songs from the '70s and '80s on the aptly titled COVERATE. From the opening jangle of XTC's "Sense Working Overtime," this New Hampshire native breezily digs into a wide range of material, from the delicate, introspective Cat Stevens nugget "Moonshadow" to Todd Rundgren's melancholy musical handshake "Can We Still Be Friends." Producer John Fields incorporates a slightly mechanized beat that compliments the majestic brass arrangements found in The Waterboys' "The Whole of the Moon" and the ...
