Release date: November 2006 14 songs. For this album Chris went in a more acoustic direction, leaving the drums behind on most of the songs. Although 'I Don't Want To Talk To A Machine' really rocks out, most of the songs on this album are done without a lot of production. Some are just one guitar and vocal. This is an album dedicated to the folksinging troubador who sings songs about things that matter. The Folksinger album
$14.45 After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. It's a lovely and redemptive outing that looks back to go forward. When Cash turned 18, her father, alarmed that his daughter only knew the songs that were getting played on the radio, gave her a list of what he considered 100 essential American songs; Cash kept that list, and now she's drawn on it for this wonderfully nuanced outing that brims with a kind of redemptive timelessness. THE LIST is a renewal and ...
| | Brad Paisley American Saturday Night CD (2009)
The Folksinger CD music
$12.95 An American saturday night is not an unusual topic for a country song but Brad Paisley's celebration is. Paisley sees a typical weekend night as a cultural collision of French kisses, Italian Ices, Canadian bacon and margaritas, a place where Mexican and Dutch beers chill side by side in a bucket of ice. If he leans too heavily on labels, referring to those ...

The Folksinger album
$10.65 To listen to or order Alex's new EP, "Beautifully Impaired," visit myspace /greenchaircircleWhen Alex Pfeifer-Rosenblum first picked up his little red guitar at the age of just three and a half, one has to wonder if he knew even then the significance of that moment to the rest of his life. 'Young rocker hopes to save the world' early headlines wrote, referring to his socially and environmentally conscious lyrics and fresh, folk-rock style that he developed as he performed throughout his youth at Bay Area venues such as La Pena and the Freight and Salvage. He certainly never could have imagined then the success of his first CD, named after the circle of green Adirondack chairs when he first entertained his community at such a young age. Alex had been writing songs and performing professionally for years by the time he released Green Chair Circle at the age of seventeen. In the opening lines of the first song, the listener is almost startled by the rich complexity of Alex's ...
| | Lewis Astwood I Give Thanks CD (2006)
The Folksinger CD music
$10.15 Lewis E. Astwood, Jr. is a talented musician in all aspects of the business as a songwriter, artist and producer. Born in his mother's house in Jonestown, Eight Mile Rock of Grand Bahama, Bahamas, music has been a passion of his since he was a little boy. His musical influence was Lionel Richie, Bob Marley and Smokey 007. He enjoys many types of music and has produced 4 CDs, two reggae, one soul and now his latest Calypso CD. At the age of 18, working at a dance club that had a live band, Lewis became fascinated with the piano. The piano player in the band would show him different cords and during Lewis' breaks he would practice those cords in the hotel lobby until they were learned. Lewis is a self-taught musician as he never took classes or studied music. He has managed to effectively learn how to play drums, keyboard, guitar and bass all on his own. Learning to play these came very easy to him as he'd buy an instrument and practice faithfully until he could play.Lewis started to write songs around the age of 16. Writing lyrics came very natural to Lewis especially after he purchased his first piano. He'd be practicing on the piano and the lyrics would just come to him while playing. This is what gave him the passion to become a songwriter. Lewis lived in Canada for 7 years from 1987-1994 and had his own small recording studio in his basement. This studio sparked his interest to become more involved with sound engineering and producing. In 1994, Lewis put together a band called 'The Prophets', where he played rhythm guitar and was the lead singer. The band played together for about 6 months at local clubs in the Freeport, Grand Bahama area. In 1996, Lewis released the reggae CD, 'Blood River'. Lewis wrote all the lyrics, played all the instruments and produced the CD. All the songs were sang by Lewis with his longtime friend, Copper, as the lead rapper. This was Lewis' first effort as a producer. After the release of 'Blood River', Lewis became the opening act for such artists as Lady Saw, Barrington Levy, ...
