Bayside's 2007 album, THE WALKING WOUNDED, was intended by the band to be a celebration of survival and perseverance in the face of tremendous setbacks, something they became intimately familiar with after the death of drummer John Holohan. Instead of a funereal affair, the album's sound is almost uniformly uplifting, with sweet Everly-Brothers-by-way-of-Bad-Religion harmonies and slickly constructed, radio-friendly choruses on pop-punk gems like "Head on a Plate" and "Carry On." THE WALKING WOUNDED is "emo" in the sense that emotion is the engine that moves these songs. Victory Records has released a GOLD EDITION of the album, complete with three live tracks from an appearance at the Long Island record store Looney Tunes and a DVD complete with a documentary, tour featurette, music videos, and more of the Looney Tunes acoustic appearance.

| Walking Wounded Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews amazing this album is proof that even in the face of defeat, bands like bayside turn that anger and sorrow from losing their original drummer into passionate music and meaningful lyrics. Bayside are destined to be one of the greatest bands, not just for their history, but for the music they've built Submitted by jayp_blue27 (P-town, AZ, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Simply amazing.. I have not been a huge follower of this band and the song "Half a Life" from their previous CD is what hooked me on this band.. they do an incredible job of writing meaningful music and lyrics.. the cd can be listened to over and over again without stopping.. something new is noticed in the music everytime i listen to it, showing their dedication to producing a solid piece of work... very enjoyable Submitted by matt (Muncie, IN) Was This Review Helpful? Bayside is still Strong I love Bayside as a band, and it was a terrible and unforgetable lost they experienced on that Halloween night when they lost drummer John Beatz. This album is their first release with a new drummer and he seems to be really good also, but of course you still miss John. This album definatley is very vocally superior showcasing Anthony's great skills, good heavy guitar, and just well produced and written sounds. This is the next chapter for Bayside and it is a must have. Submitted by mcobb53538 (Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Boo Hewerdine Thanksgiving CD (1999)
Walking Wounded
$15.45 Boo Hewerdine is the former leader of the Bible, a British pop band that enjoyed modest success in the late '80s. Since then he's been mainly pursuing a solo career (interrupted by his brief sojourn as a member of Fairground Attraction, on which he collaborated with the similarly inclined British folk-popsters Eddi Reader and Clive Gregson), writing great songs for himself and others and gaining more critical acclaim than commercial success. Thanksgiving finds him wallowing in a soft, billowy, acoustic sadness which is sometimes very pretty in a Beatlesque way ("The Birds Are Leaving") and sometimes moving ("Bell, Book and Candle"). | | Tim Buckley Sefronia CD (1973)
Walking Wounded
$10.59 Principally recorded at Paramount Recording Studios, Los Angeles, California.
SEFRONIA is an occasionally mesmerizing and very strange album, even by Tim Buckley's latter-day standards. Anybody who could open a lyric with the line "I couldn't buy you with one hundred cattle" (as Buckley does in part two of the album's title song) is harboring no illusions about his ability to sell records. The aforementioned two-part title song is a highly original, abstract mix of folk, jazz, and art song, featuring, like the rest of the album, typically spellbinding vocals.
More weirdness is on display in "I'd Recognize Your Face," a duet (with the lost-to-history Marcia Waldorf on vocals) sung from the point of view of a divorced couple in which the guy isn't paying alimony and has never seen his own son. It's autobiographical, although most listeners at the time had no idea. Buckley closes the album with a version of the most ambiguous and spooky song in rock history--the Jaynettes' "Sally Go Round the Roses."
Tim Buckley's 8th studio album, released in September 1973. Includes the first-ever cover of the Tom Waits composition, 'Martha'. 11 tracks

Walking Wounded

Digitally remastered by Erick Labson (MCA Media Studios, North Hollywood, California).
"This is Kung Fu--taking you on a musical reviewàEnter The Dragon!àbraaap!!!" Yes, you guessed it--you're in Lee Perry's brain again--or he's in yours--and he's burping. He's primed with rum and some rather large cigarettes, and he's running down "Enter the Dragon," replete with the aforementioned burps, plus flying saucer sound effects, stinging hi-hats, and a tight, insistent bass and drum rhythm that takes no prisoners.
With production credits that run from the Clash to the Wailers and a brain that just runs and runs, Perry's a small, wiry wild man who's cast a giant shadow over both reggae and rock music. A compact sampler of the man's crazed genius, this collection involves the usual suspects--Max Romeo's "War in a Babylon," Junior Murvin's "Police & Thieves," and Junior Byles's "Curly Locks," together with cuts by the Upsetters from Perry's influential SUPER APE album. This, or any Lee Perry collection is a guaranteed wild ride--he doesn't so much produce a track as possess it, haunting it with growling vocals, mysterious gurgles and banshee-like guitar effects, always underpinning the whole with mighty, speaker-rattling rhythm. A good primer for the neophyte with excellent liner notes by David Katz.
Compilation producer: Dana G. Smart.
Personnel: Lee "Scratch" Perry (vocals, percussion); Danny Clarke, Earl Morgan, Roydel Johnson, Carlton Jackson ...

Walking Wounded
$16.45 Kelly Nolf moved to Nashville from Michigan in 1980 with her singing family, where they performed regularly at the Opryland Hotel. Kelly is a singer, songwriter and has always been referred to as "the other Wynonna". It only seemed natural when Kelly and Wyndi met in 2000 at the Stardust Theatre in Nashville, TN that they would quickly fill the part as "The Judds" in the Tribute to the Stars Show. Wyndi and Kelly both take their rolls seriously with accurate Judd vocals, humor and costumes. They have quickly become an audience favorite. The duo refers to themselves as "the other Judds" and once you see them in action you'll see why people take a double look.Wyndi Harp is a native Texan and moved to Nashville in 1989 to pursue a songwriting career. She has had many independent cuts and is still actively writing. Ever since The Judds have been in the spotlight she has been mistaken for Naomi Judd. After auditioning for the part of Naomi at the Stardust Theatre in August of 1999, she has been a Judd Impersonator. She's ...
