Divinaura album
$12.75 This is the debut album from Amethystium which received a groundswell of support from online listeners, to the tune of a half million downloads before its official release. The album is attributed to Oystein Ramfjord, a composer from Norway who makes ambient electronic music full of mystifying sounds. The opening song, "Opaque," begins with an incredible underwater sonar pulse that makes way for passages of Indian vocals that are very reminiscent of Deep Forest. In fact, most songs employ well-crafted samples of ...
| | Amethystium Aphelion CD (2003)
Divinaura CD music
$14.45 Aphelion is the point where a planet or any celestial body is furthest from the sun. While this must be pretty dark place, Amethystium breathes light into the shadows. Amethystium is Oystein Ramfjord, a Norwegian composer who shapes elements of electronica and darkwave, evoking classic Tangerine Dream and Kitaro. This is the follow-up album to ODONATA, Ramfjord's acclaimed debut. Voices figure prominently into each song's construction. Often ethereal and wordless, these sound forms give a great depth and haunting quality to the music, while the only discernible lyrics are found on "Autumn Interlude." Amidst pitch shifting ...
| | Amethystium Evermind CD (2004) Digipak
Divinaura music CDs
$13.49 Amethystium, the recording moniker for keyboardist/composer Oystein Ramfjord, makes lavish, sweeping, New Age music by combining ethereal synth effects with pulsing beats and majestic themes. EVERMIND stays true to the Amethystium formula--the music here is like the soundtrack to some as-yet-unmade ...
| | Ryan Farish From The Sky CD (2005)
Divinaura songs
$12.05 Composer Ryan Farish is heard most widely by those who consult The Weather Channel on a regular basis; his talents have also been utilized for in-house purposes by such major corporations as IBM and Sun Microsystems. These two facts may lead you to expect numbingly pleasant, utterly boring music with a professional sheen and a saccharin-sweet favor. You'd be only about one-third right. It's true that Farish's music is about as intellectually challenging as People magazine. But that's not to say that it's either boring or syrupy. Remember the Ramones: intellectually speaking, their music wasn't even up to People standards (it was more like The Weekly World News), but that doesn't mean their songs weren't spectacular. While Farish is no Joey Ramone, his ability to mix luscious, piano-driven chord progressions with funky breakbeats and faux-ethnic vocals (a vaguely African-sounding children's choir here, ...

| | Mccoy Tyner Live At Newport CD (1963)
Divinaura songs
$12.65 Recorded live at the Newport Jazz Festival, Newport, Rhode Island on July 5, 1963. Includes liner notes by Willis Conover.
Digitally remastered using 20-bit technology by Erick Labson (MCA Music Media Studios).
The fact that pianist McCoy Tyner was dead tired when he was to lead a quintet that had never performed together before at the 1963 Newport Jazz Festival is not apparent for a second on this excellent live set. The show almost didn't go on; Clark Terry had left his flugelhorn in somebody's car, but, luckily, he borrowed Bill Berry's trumpet. When the men hit the stage on that July afternoon, however, all problems seemed to float away in the summer air. In short, this is a dynamic performance that offers some of Tyner's best playing in the early stage of his career.
The sleep gets rubbed out of the eyes with the burning opener "Newport Romp," as Tyner and the rhythm section burn behind Terry and saxophonist Charlie Mariano. Shifting gears, a loping reading of the classic "My Funny Valentine" offers a taste of the elegant lyrical side of Tyner's style. The trio of Tyner, Bob Cranshaw, and Mickey Roker really gels on the standard "All of You" and "Monk's Blues." In the end, the quintet reforms to close with a funky mambo/swing read of Dizzy's "Woody ...
| | Zingaia Dancers Of Twilight CD (2000)
Divinaura album
$13.39 This is the second album from innovative husband and wife team Michael and Katlyn Breene, who combine exotic gypsy rhythms, meditative New Age ambience and uplifting trance vibes to create the Zingaia sound. The track "Divine Flame" has a relaxing late night dance vibe with the faintest undercurrent of David Lynch-style eeriness underneath, hinting at the unexplored mysteries that rhythm can awaken in the soul. "At the Window" takes things in a more ambient direction, with spine-chilling chimes and drowsy, half-whispered vocals. "Dark Eros" explores this style further, with an eerie echo effect recalling a midnight gypsy initiation ceremony conducted deep in prehistoric caves. "Magus" features a tonally-altered vocal chant destined to plunge the attuned into a strange new level of trance awareness, while "Ondine" plunges into a twisting, constantly evolving sea of rhythm and seduction. Practitioners of yoga and the Tantric arts will recognize the aural manifestation of Maya, goddess of illusion, in these tracks, which writhe in a ceaseless dance of seduction, exoticism, chill vibes, and intoxicating rhythms.
Building on the seductive energy of their acclaimed debut release, Beneath the Veil, Zingaia blends new age, world beat and pop with finesse and originality. Surrender to Sacred pleasure... Enter a sensuous world of exotic world rhythms, enrapturing female vocals and smooth trance dance, global grooves. This long anticipated follow-up to the bestseller "Beneath the Veil" from Zingaia's music/art wizards ...
