Release Therapy album
$14.30 Just half a year from the release of the mysteriously unauthorized catalog clearinghouse/label kiss off Murder Was the Case, Gucci Mane returns with The State vs. Radric Davis, his latest on Warner Bros.' Asylum imprint. True to form, the bling-loving rapper brings the club-ready Dirty South rap, complete with trunk-rattling bass and trademark synths. Featuring production by Drumma Boy, Mannie Fresh, Shawty Redd, and Scott Storch, amongst others, it's no surprise that the album is able to perfectly capture the low and slow Southern sound. Some of the best beats come by way of Bangladesh (producer on the Lil Wayne single "A Milli"), who drops some seriously roll slowing Atlanta heat on "Stupid Wild" and "Lemonade." The all-star roster doesn't just stop on the production side. Soulja Boy Tell `Em, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, ...

Release Therapy music CDs
$9.55 Chumbawamba's dalliance with the big time and novelty hit-single stardom came to an abrupt and fitting end with 2000s What You See Is What You Get. Rather than write a sequel to "Tubthumping," the famously anarchic group emptied the sack of barbs, slivers, and torn receipts acquired during their curious arc of international fame and glued them into a sticky, hooky, and cynical pop-culture mess. The record was standard operating procedure for Chumbawamba, but it spelled disaster for their deal with EMI, who had likely been hoping for "Son of Tubthumping: I Get Up Again, Again!" Well, bollocks to that. The group's major-label existence always seemed like an elaborate wool pull, anyway; its death was a perfect and expected punch line. After a hiatus, Chumbawamba has returned with Readymades (Koch), a collection of bitterly sarcastic, politically fed-up, and socially on-point modernist folk songs that rattle the brain as much with message as they do with melody. Chopped up guitar and horn samples and shuffleboard drum programming form the basis of "Jacob's Ladder," but the song unites around a timeless Harry Cox vocal sample. "And they sent him to the war to be slain," the revered English folk singer intones over the shimmering beats, and his presence aligns the song's contemporary antiwar message ...

| | Lyrical Preacher God's Time CD (2004)
Release Therapy album
$17.05 "We walk by faith, not by sight." This scripture (2nd Corinthians 5:7) is a prime example of the spiritual life that Calen Johnson lives. Known in the world of music as Lyrical Preacher and his music-spawning alias Nelac, he is a talented individual that hails from the state of Maryland, with a mission to change and save people's lives and spirits across the world with his music. His expertise includes that of singing, rapping, producing, songwriting and music composing; these talents are being put into good use as he performs in the DC-Metropolitan area and other parts of the United States. He is the owner and CEO of Thief in the Night 152 Productions and Nelac Publishing, two companies created in 2003â€"with the help of his father and business investor, Camero Johnsonâ€"for the sole purpose of creating quality music and presenting it to the world. It is quite obvious that God had a major plan for Calen since his birth on October 19, 1983, as he listened and sang to songs from albums played in the house, and performed for his parents by singing and dancing. Even his peers at Longfields Elementary School were entertained by his energy as he was an avid fan of Michael Jackson in the late 80's and early 90's. Calen's musical experience began at the age of eleven, were he first learned how to play the saxophone. He would then continue to hone his skills at Thurgood Marshall Middle School by participating in the concert band, string ensembleâ€"where he learned to play celloâ€"and the youth orchestra of Prince George's County. It was during his tenure at Thurgood that he realized he wanted to sing and rap, writing his first rap song and singing for his father in 1996. Camero Johnson (Calen's father) saw the potential in him and put him in Back to Basics, a spiritual-based summer music camp that focused on developing children's musical talents and teach Biblically based values. Here L.P. developed his talents through voice, piano, and drum lessons; from that point on he used this experience to continue learning about music in class and on his own, experimenting with chords and melodies in an effort to create his own music. He came to grips with what he truly wanted to do as an artist upon attending Largo High School, where he actively participated in the marching, concert, stage and pep bands, even participated in poetry reads at the school. As he continued developing his voice (in both rapping and singing) and playing abilities thanks to the personal coaching and financial investments of his father, Calen made the decision to rap and sing ...

Release Therapy songs
$11.15 Ladies and GentlemenThanks for visiting. I hope you like the snippets of my disc, "The Fundus Among Us". All the tune on the disc are original compositions. Kudos to those who can identify where I stole the changes for some of the tunes. I played all the instruments except for the drums. Most of the recording was done on a Stoneman fretless 5 and a Bass Collection Fretless 5. For some of the tunes, like "The Velvet Elvis" (The highlight of the disc; don't miss that one), I played the chords on a fretted Hohner B2A five string bass. All with a high c string. Guitar used is a mid 80's Carvin DC-200. Just a little rant on who I am. My musical training started in grade school where I played clarinet and saxophone in about all the concert, jazz, and marching bands there was. In ninth grade I bought a Fender Musicmaster bass (Ahh..Lake Placid Blue!) because wind instruments just didn't cut it in a rock-n-roll band. Later, one of my teachers was Carmen Caramanica,. For you central New Yorkers, he is the jazz cat ...
