Along with Styx and REO Speedwagon, Journey ruled the charts and radio airwaves in the early '80s. And like the aforementioned bands, Journey began in the '70s, so obviously the compilers of its 1988 GREATEST HITS release had a lot of material to choose from.
Journey's sound was a merger of hard rock, compliments of guitarist Neal Schon, and the melodic pop/ballads of singer Steve Perry. This resulted in such classic rock radio staples as "Any Way You Want It," "Separate Ways," "Open Arms," "Don't Stop Believin'," ...

Berlin Moskau
$26.15 Recorded between 1935 and 1955. Includes liner notes by Milt Gabler and Dan Morgenstern.
This attractive two-CD set, released to celebrate Fitzgerald's 75th birthday, is a perfect greatest-hits collection spanning the first half of her very productive career. All 39 songs are winners, highlighted by "A-Tisket, A-Tasket," "Undecided," "Flying Home," "Lady Be Good," "How High the Moon," "Smooth Sailing," "Airmail Special," "Lullaby of Birdland," and "Hard Hearted Hannah." During the period covered by this package, she developed from a fine big-band pop vocalist into the definitive jazz singer, one who could scat and swing with the best musicians. This set is a perfect introduction to her magic. ~ Scott Yanow

| | Alert The Press We're Gonna Have A Parade CD (2009)
Berlin Moskau
$12.69 Alert the Press is an alternative rock band from Springfield, Ohio comprised of Mike Adkins (vocals/guitar), Matt Grant (guitar/vocals), Nathan Grant (bass), and Jason Byrum (drums). Formed in the late summer of 2007 by founders Adkins and Grant, Alert the Press performed several acoustic shows around Springfield and Dayton and got just the positive response they were looking for. They soon added Byrum and Nathan Grant and performed their first show at The Attic in Kettering, Ohio on December 14th, 2007. Due to scheduling conflicts concerning Seditious Libel (Nathan's former punk rock band) and AtP, Nathan gave up his position to Adam Bostick until late May 2009. Adam’s participation in an amazing instrumental group, Rhythm X, persuaded the role reversal of Nathan and Adam within the band. This made the original line up the current one as well, with the exception of Bostick taking over the roll of live synthesizer and vocals. Just prior to the New Year, AtP recorded a four song demo, with Trevor Bostick, including Gone, Christmas B-side, Point Made, and One for Katie. Throughout the next year they passed out their demo out at no cost while playing shows stretching from Cincinnati to Cleveland and several cities along the way. For more than a year, Alert the Press continued to perform the same set to the same crowd in all of the same cities. On two separate occasions, once at Self-Made studios and another in Adkins and Grant's basement the band attempted to record their first full-length album. After two consecutive failed attempts and what appeared to be the inevitable end of AtP, the band took a short break to rethink their strategy. Not long after, everything started to fall into place. While each member was county schooled, burb-raise kids, they individually face the same financial struggles that any other early-twenty year old would face. A severe lack of funds made the next essential steps for professionally marketing our band seem nearly impossible, (not to mention the obvious and unneeded stress that is growing up.) Through all of this, each member kept their head high and never lost sight of their common goal. Everyone’s determination and optimistic outlook eventually paid off when Grant received an unexpected student loan check in early spring 2009 for Wright State University, which ...
