Visperas De Confesores
$12.49 On June 15, 1953, the Ford Motor Company sponsored a two-hour television special to celebrate its 50th year of existence that was broadcast live on both CBS and NBC. Guests included Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Rudy Vallée, and Eddie Fisher, but the highlight of the show was a medley performed by Broadway's two leading female stars, Mary Martin and Ethel Merman. The 39-year-old Martin had made her Broadway debut in 1938 in Leave It to Me and since starred in One Touch of Venus and South Pacific; the 44-year-old Merman's Broadway career dated back to Girl Crazy in 1930 and included Anything Goes and Annie Get Your Gun. The two were a study in contrasts, Merman a brassy belter and Martin a warm, understated charmer. But they made a terrific team, beginning separately with signature songs for each, "There's No Business Like Show Business" for Merman and "A Wonderful Guy" for Martin, then trading choruses, or just lines, from a series of old Tin Pan Alley songs, followed by a series of "I" songs, leading into more signature songs ("You're Just in Love" and "I Get a Kick Out of You" for Merman, "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair" and "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" for Martin) and finishing with some old standards. Decca Records quickly rushed out this 10" LP, with an edited version of the medley on side one ("You Made Me Love You" and "My ...

$9.35 Here is some information about our group on the CD! Leah Stein(2006-08): Leah's musical education started with folk songs on road trips with her family. The humble begining was the right spark to inflame the love that would become her life's passion. Starting with "The Sunshine Kids" in kindergarten and continuing with various other choirs all through Elementary and Middle school she began a journey that she continued with MMM.In High school she spent two years in private voice lessons and then began performing with the Metropolitan State College of Denver's Women's Choir. She was recently a Major in Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance through MSCD and used each grain of musical knowledge gained there to better her sound with the MMM.To Leah, life's every hour is a potential real-life musical and day by day she works hard to make them that way! Emily Atherton(2006-08): Emily is a recent graduate from the Colorado State University in Fort Collins with an Anthropology Major and a French minor. In addition to her intellectual pursuits, she has been singing since before she can remember. Accomplished in her youth as a member of the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale, Colorado All State Choir, and the National Youth Chorus, her most recent vocal achievements include singing for the 2005 International Sacred Music Festival in South Korea with the Colrado State University Chamber Singers, and of course, her membership in the Merrye Madrygal Mavyns of the Colorado Renaissance Festivale, the fynest group of ladies she has ever had the honor with which to sing.Don't let her size fool you, she made the biggest sound and most technically sound of the group! Dana Ritterbusch(2007-08): Dana has been singing from birth, and began actively studying singing her freshman year at Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colorado.Ever the Soprano, she has performed with Colorado's Continental League Choir and both Joventus and Feminea Scholara Cantorum of the University of Norther Colorado. During her high school years she competed at multiple solo competitions and once earned a perfect score. Dana is now studying opera with a Metropolitan Opera regional finalist and plans to continue her musical and theatrical education at the University of Northern Colorado. Monika Graf(2006-08, Leader 2008): The first show Monika ...
