This Is East Coast Hip Hop CD

A compilation of both known and unknown East Coast (meaning mostly New York) rappers, while This Is East Coast Hip Hop doesn't necessarily represent all of what is coming out, or has come out, of the area (there are too many tracks, for example, from unknown MCs like Flagrant, Pchild, and Jha Jha), the three-disc collection (the third disc, however, is just a chopped-and-screwed mix) still has a pretty decent lineup. It has a bit of a mixtape feel, as would be expected, with underground tracks from Nas ("The Greatest") and Fat Joe ("Deep Cover") as well as cuts from Cincinnati's Hi-Tek and Philadelphia mixtape king Gillie da Kid. ~ Marisa Brown
