Maschine Zeit album
$9.58 Susan Boyle's grand unveiling on Britain's Got Talent was with a song from Les Miserables - the very song that lends this album its title -- and if she could become an international sensation based on a show tune standard, there's no reason for her to change her approach on her debut, since that's the sound that made her a star. Plus, a large part of Boyle's appeal is that she's a middle-aged woman recalling a bygone era when there were singers that appealed to an adult audience by offering soft, stately versions of pop hits and standards. That time was the late `60s and early `70s, and apart from a rather faithful version of Madonna's "You'll See," I Dreamed a Dream could very well have been released all those years ago, as it mixes up the show tunes, gospel, and Christmas carols with covers of Skeeter Davis' "The End of the World," ...
| | Paul McCartney Good Evening New York City CDs (2009) With DVD; Digipak
Maschine Zeit CD music
$15.64 Unlike its 2002 predecessor Back in the U.S., Good Evening New York City doesn't cherrypick highlights from a tour, it commemorates a specific event: the inauguration of Citi Field -- the replacement for the now-defunct Shea Stadium, where the Beatles played a legendary show in 1965 -- in the summer of 2009. The circumstances may be different -- different enough to lead to a Billy Joel cameo on "I Saw Her Standing There," the piano man returning a favor from Paul, who played at Billy's Shea-closing shows in 2008 -- and McCartney might have two strong albums of new material to draw upon, but as an album, Good Evening New York City plays a lot like Back in the U.S. with a whopping 17 of its 35 tracks shared between the two titles. More importantly, the vibe is the same, with Macca delivering an expertly balanced and sequenced set with all the skill of the old pro that he is. Apart from ...
| | Lady Gaga Fame Monster CD (2009)
Maschine Zeit music CDs
$8.79 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of "Bad Romance" ...

It might surprise those coming in late to their story that the original double-LP version of this album from 1974 was the first compilation devoted to the Moody Blues' work. That's seven years after their switch from R&B-based British Invasion rock & roll to psychedelic music, and ten years into their overall history, an awfully long time for a successful band to avoid the compilation route. That fact alone speaks volumes for how healthy their album sales were -- only the group's decision to take a hiatus seems to have prompted the assembling of this collection. The Moody Blues had actually had enough hits and charting singles between England and ...

Maschine Zeit songs
$11.49 Hello,We are Charlie & The Welfare and come from the south of Holland. C&TW forms a group of four passionate musicians who all have gained a lot of experience within national and foreign bands. Our own characteristics and combinations of rock, Rhythm & blues, country and soul are all combined in our first cd, titled cross the Lines. On it are ten splendid numbers stand all by the hand of Hans Vermeeren (Charlie), the founder and guitarist singer song writer of the band. That the band gets their influence from men such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Hiatt and John Fogerty is well heard in some numbers. The guitar work and the singing of Charlie combined with Hammond sound of Frankie, the tight bass plucking of Laurens combined with the rhythmic drums of Roel creates contagious sound.CHARLIE’S BIO:Charlie started playing the guitar when he was twelve years old. Inspired by many rock en blues cover bands who played in the neighbourhood he bought his first electric guitar and focussed on the blues music. The first band in which he played (age of seventeen) was the rock band Partners in Crime. Afterwards during the years followed innumerable jam sessions with a variety of musicians followed. During those sessions Charlie also started singing and the idea was born to start a band of his own.Meanwhile Charlie was also influenced by other styles such as the music from Django Reinhardt. But the blues thought never left him and he kept on writing blues songs for his own band. This ideal blues-rock formation eventually became reality when he brought the musicians mentioned below together.BAND BIOS:DRUMS: Roel BisschopRoel has played with many formations and artists such as Virgin, Kaz Lux, (Brainbox), Cyriel Havermans (focus), Tony the Queljoe, the band Piu Piu, The Fish Hospital He made a number of cd's among other things with the American producer Robert Muzzo. Afterwards he made the move to the blues. He played a number of years with Magic Frankie, and was the supporting act in 1992, in the Netherlands and Germany tour of BB King during his European tour. Trough his experience with blues music he was regularly asked for accompanying American blues act, among which Monti Amundson. BASS: Laurens VerdurmenLaurens copied "art" of mastering the guitar from a friend of his older brother. Bass players were very scarce in that time and he exchanged 6-string rapidly for a 4-string copy.Squint, were the first band where he stood regularly on the podium. Beginning 1990s he was incorporated by the Real Stallions, sixties over band. After having crossed the Netherlands for 7 years and having released a CD with own material it was time for Lau to look further. He had met Charlie on several festivals and sessions and there was no doubt at all when Charlie asks him to join C&TW. At that moment C&TW is a fact. ORGAN: Frankie Vee Frankie Vee (Frans Vriens) lives in the south of ...
