Godspell, the second musical of the early '70s to be based on the life of Jesus Christ (following Jesus Christ Superstar, which hit the record racks, but not the stage first), was something of a sleeper, opening off-off-Broadway in May 1971, with an original cast album that belatedly became a big success in 1972 after "Day By Day" was released as a single and hit the Top Ten. By then, the show had moved to off-Broadway and was well on its way to a run that would exceed 2,500 performances (and eventually reach Broadway itself). Bell Records, ...

| | Eric Slater Redemption And Disorder CD (2007)
Sound Of New Orleans/Gospel Favorites CD music
$7.99 In November 2005, Eric released his debut LP On the Edge of Something More. Rather than continue to exhaust the newly released songs, in Eric's words, 'I didn't want to spend years promoting songs from one album without properly representing my art and my development with new recordings and releases.' So in the summer of 2006, Slater entered the studio again with legendary engineer Dave Ahlert to begin recording what would become his new 2007 follow-up release Redemption and Disorder. Redemption and Disorder reiterates the thought-provoking themes of Slater's lyrical style but also encompasses an eclecticism unexplored in his previous work. This in part was achieved by bringing in a wide range of guest musicians to play on these songs with him. 'Music is about communication and communion. With this album, having more resources and more time allowed me the privilege of inviting a fairly large group of musicians, all of them friends I've met and played with at some time along the way, to help me present these songs and reinforce the communal aspect of the music I strive represent. ' As with On the Edge of Something More, Slater produced the ten-track compilation and played a large variety of instruments on it as well. 'Though I consider both albums collectively to be an encompassment of one large, intense period of inspiration, I feel that my songwriting on Redemption and Disorder is less formulaic than in my previous work. Less emphasis was placed on the classic repetition of parts than on the evolution and directional progress of the melody and dynamic. The songs render themselves to this. Over the years, ...

Additionally she is a trained pianist, actress and dancer. Following her comprehensive training at the 'Australian College of Entertainers', Lisa worked in Television, Film and Theatre.
