| | Rod Argent All Together Now CD Rod Argent Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
ALL TOGETHER NOW contains 7 bonus B-sides not on the original album.
By 1972, Argent were in a perilous commercial spot. Although "Liar," from their self-titled 1970 debut, had been a huge hit--it was, unfortunately, a hit for Three Dog Night. Since commercial expectations were low, keyboardist/singer Rod Argent, his non-performing songwriting partner Chris White (both formerly of '60s hitmakers The Zombies) along with singer/guitarist Russ Ballard, drummer Robert Henrit and bassist Jim Rodford, had the opportunity to record the album they wanted to make.
The Zombies had been in a similar position five years before with their ODESSEY AND ORACLE, and while ALL TOGETHER NOW is perhaps not up to the level of that classic album, its lead-off track, the slinky "Hold Your Head Up," became a '70s rock staple. Elsewhere, the 13-minute, four-part "Pure Love" was Argent and White's jazz- and classical-influenced masterpiece, and Ballard's "Tragedy" was one of his best. The CD reissue contains seven bonus tracks.
Zombies founder Rod Argent formed the progressive rock band Argent that had a string of hits in the `70s including "Hold Your Head Up" featured here with the original LP version and the edited single version. We have re mastered and re packaged the album and added 5 bonus tracks.
Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London, England. Includes liner notes by Dawn Eden and Richard Dunkley.

All Together Now album
$11.99 Digitally remastered by Jim Phillips (Universal Mastering Studios West, North Hollywood, California).
Although it omits three songs from the far less comprehensive (and deleted) 1983 12-track Best Of, and doesn't include any live or post-A&M music, this 2000 release stands as the final word on the Ozark Mountain Daredevils' career. Cherry-picking 21 tunes from their five studio album stint circa 1974-1978 -- with the lion's share coming from their first three albums and only three selections from the final two -- this is pretty much all you'll need from the under-recognized band that ...

All Together Now album
$10.29 Born in Germany, but flying to the U.S. when 3 months old, Melena lived with her grandmother in Leavenworth, KS til she passed away when Melena was 12 years old. During those early years, her grandma discovered and encouraged undeniable talents that Melena displayed at a young age, both in writing stories and poetry as well as in art. Melena won countless poster, essay and poetry contests as a child and was an excellent student. After her grandma passed away, Melena went to live with an aunt and uncle, although being in contact with both of her biological parents by this time. The environment was much different at her new home. A combination of influences of new friends, less strict upbringing, cable television and evenings with no adult supervision began to bring out another side of her. At age 13, partying, drinking, sneaking out of the house and skipping school became routine, while the school grades drastically dropped. During her teenage years, she was greatly influenced by the music of Tupac Shakur, constantly listening to Thug Life Volume 1 and Me Against The World , citing that those albums helped her through hard times. Her love and infatuation with music continued to grow as one of her best friends, Ed White, got a keyboard and began making beats and writing rap lyrics, beginning WeldWater Entertainment. At age 16, she visited friend, B-Rich (Richard Banks) of Kansas City, KS and was completely wowed as she heard an industry quality track of him and his group collectively called “Tough World Click” and she realized she could put her love of music and writing skills together and do music herself. Writing rap lyrics now instead of poems, she had notebook upon notebook of lyrics, but was easily discouraged when her boyfriend at the time was so unsupportive of her venture. She stopped writing for close to 7 years, until running into Frostee, a.k.a. Young Mista at a 9 to 5 gig she was working at. He approached her with a cd, they began to talk and she mentioned she used to write rap lyrics. They began recording mixed tape tracks together. Starting to write frequently again, she pursued other means to record, and hooked up with J Lee of Heet Mobb and began recording at their studio at 80th and Paseo in Kansas City, MO with DJ Hylanda. DJ Hylanda encouraged both her music and her artistic talent. During a phone conversation from the Penn, after hearing her rap,B-Rich encouraged Melena to contact his long time friend, rapper, Hobo Tone for production. Melena recorded a few tracks with him as well as with Heet Mobb before making the decision to do things completely on her own, purchasing a few beats from local producers, some seasoned and some just starting out, and began recording at Chapman Studio and Jazz’s Studio. In February of 2006 she attended auditions for a Demo Deal Contest for Virgin Records held at the Hyatt Hotel in Kansas City, MO. Over 150 local rappers, R&B artists and groups auditioned. ...
