Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; Blue Ray HD-DVD Combining the historical appeal and epic sequences of films like GLADIATOR and BRAVEHEART, director Antoine Fuqua (TRAINING DAY) and producer Jerry Bruckheimer provide a sleek twist on the King Arthur legend. Arthur (Clive Owen), a brave Roman/British Christian warrior who leads his band of pagan knights on missions for the Empire, must complete one final mission before the knights can earn their freedom from servitude and Arthur can return to Rome. Along the way, however, Arthur realizes that the pullout of the Romans will open the door for a crushing invasion of Britain by the Saxons, and he takes it upon himself to fight with Merlin (Stephen Dillane) and Guinevere (Keira Knightley) for the freedom of the British people.
Stunning battle scenes with extensive attention to historical detail rely very little on computer graphics and instead use intricately realistic props, costumes, and scenery. Featuring the largest film set ever built in Ireland, KING ARTHUR features a scale replica of Hadrian's Wall and two complete villages. Haunting music by composer Hans Zimmer completes this story of unselfish heroism, which ultimately provides a satisfying completion to the legend of Arthur and his knights. King Arthur Movie Review Surprisingly good I saw the extended unrated version on DVD. The movie itself did not seem even half as bad as some critics and other people claimed it was. I would definitely recommend this one over movies such as 'Troy' and 'Alexander'. What caused many to criticize this film is probably the change of perspective from knights in shiny armor to Roman mercenary horsemen in a dark, bloody, and merciless Britain of the time. Also, plenty of criticism of Christianity and the Church (although probably rightfully) didn't help with a number of critics either. All in all, one of the better sword flicks to come out in recent years. Submitted by N.M. (Brooklyn, NY, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful. For the ladies (hunks), men; lots of fights Super flick. The VHS tape is great, but not as many great fight scenes, however the DVD shows much more fighting and alot more of all the "hunks" in this movie, but left out allot of the more tender side of these men and their feelings. Great flick no matter how you look at it. I love it !!! Submitted by ghayes1458 (Fallon, NV) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

Not one dull moment You don't look to Holloywood for history, you look for solid storytelling. The movie billed itself as the untold true story of Arthur, but it fell short in that department. The Saxons looked and acted like they came from the American South, and Arthur, who is chivalrous and moral in the tales, has the morals of a born again Christian in the movie. But despite its flaws, it is epic Hollywood movie making that makes for enjoyable viewing. Submitted by tintin84105 (Woods Cross, UT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? King Arthur film
$23.89 It's always been said that a video game cannot be successfully adapted into a film. With SILENT HILL, director Christophe Gans (BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF) and screenwriter Roger Avary (KILLING ZOE) have the benefit of the atmospheric and often terrifying game series of the same name. With a budget reportedly in excess of $50 million, they wisely eschew dense plot in favor of a kaleidoscopic nightmare--culled from several volumes of the game series--designed to give horror fans what they crave. Radha Mitchell (PITCH BLACK) stars as Rose Da Silva, a young mother whose adopted daughter Sharon speaks of the eponymous West Virginia mining town as she sleepwalks. Rose decides to take Sharon there in an attempt to discover why it haunts her dreams--but Silent Hill has been a ghost town since a series of underground coal fires in ...

King Arthur film
$30.49 Equal parts psychological drama and heist movie, this film from screenwriter Scott Frank is a smart first feature with a strong cast. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Chris Pratt, a young man whose life changes after a car accident. Though Chris survived, he's not the cocky high school athlete everyone remembers. Instead, a head injury leaves him with memory loss and the need to write everything down in a notebook. After leaving his late-night job as a bank janitor for the evening, Chris meets Gary (Matthew Goode) and Luvlee (Isla Fisher, WEDDING CRASHERS) at a neighborhood bar. Though they initially seem genuine, Gary reveals his intentions to rob the bank where Chris works. Eager for friendship and a return to the person he used to be, Chris is quickly in over his head.
After starring in THIRD ROCK FROM THE SUN, Gordon-Levitt hasn't gone the typical ...
