| | Controllers Clear View CD (1997)
Going Down music CDs
$14.49 The Controllers hit with "Somebody's Gotta Win, Somebody's Gotta Lose," back in the day, but opening with "When I'm Away" on Clear View they sound like Boyz II Men; they update their '70s classic with a '90s-style, meaning they tack on a long intro and emote their lamenting lyrics for nearly six minutes. Their seasoned voices have a youthful, contemporary ...
| | Gary Stadler Fairy Heart Magic CD (2000)
Going Down songs
$13.09 While this album may not be charting any new territory with its fusion of electronic sounds with traditional-sounding Celtic music, it does manage to present a pleasant result. Especially strong are the songs which feature the vocalist Stephannie, whose ethereal vocals come across as clear as a bell. "Fairy Nightsongs" shimmers with a spiritual, otherworldly song, as does, not surprisingly, "Otherworld." Other highlights include the work of harpist Lisa Lynne and songs like the gentle "Sa'Brooke." ~ Stacia Proefrock

| | Caroline Cotter Back On The Train CD (2008)
Going Down album
$17.75 Back on the Train was originally recorded in August (2007) as a personal record of the songs that Caroline wrote this summer while living in Maine with her family. In September she began her travels in Europe and played for a wide variety of audiences, all encouraging her to put out an album as soon as possible. So here it is! Caroline’s first 9 original songs as they were recorded (most in one take) live in the studio. Each song is honest and unrefined, not edited or fiddled with, and totally organic - just like Caroline. Caroline tells stories pulled from her travels, her relationships, and what has concerned her in all that she has experienced in the past few years. Each song tells a different story, packed with honesty and personal experience. The stories are wordy and wise, detailed depictions of real life wrapped in universal themes of independence, loneliness and finding comfort within. Enjoy!!The youngest of three, Caroline grew up in Providence, Rhode Island, always singing with family, in the glee club, choruses and in her church choir. At age 5 she began piano lessons but stopped at 13, unamused by the rigidity of studying. She continued with music on her own, inspired by the Indigo Girls, Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, Tori Amos, and Karen Carpenter. At 16 she began teaching herself to play the guitar. In college, the always enthusiastic singer continued with her passion and sang as a member of the Colbyettes (one of Colby’s all female a cappella groups) for four years and on occasion lit up the stage in the school’s Broadway musical revues. It was also at Colby College that Caroline discovered her passion for travel. In January 2004 she got the opportunity to study for a month in Costa Rica and in 2005 in Russia. In February of 2005 she began studies in Chile where she lived for 6 months. In 2006 she returned to South America to explore the Patagonia and traveled through Chile and Argentina from Santiago to the Straights of Magellan. After graduating from Colby in 2006, she moved to Thailand to discover a different part of the globe and a new culture. She lived and worked in Thailand for the school year teaching 3 and 4 year olds at a bilingual school in Chiang Mai and frequenting Santia’s Grotto for pick up jam sessions. It was upon her return from Thailand that Caroline began to write her own music. This September Caroline traveled to Europe to begin her walk on the Camino de Santiago, as anticipated in her song El Camino (track 5). She began in St. Jean Pied de Port, France and walked for 30 days across 800k of northern Spain until she reached Santiago de Compostela. After she arrived in Santiago, she continued her walk for three more days to reach the Atlantic coast. In mid October, she went back to France to work and live on a small organic farm and vineyard in the Southwest, entertaining vendors and shoppers in the village markets on her days off. In late November of 2008, she moved to vibrant Barcelona where she continued her adventuring and music writing until February of 2009. From Barcelona she continued her travels to India to ...
