They might have passed each other on the streets of NYC and not even known it in the mid 60’s when Alan was on his way to a long career on Broadway and film, first as a performer and later as a choreographer and director. Mike was haunting the clubs in Greenwich Village with his battered Goya guitar and original songs. But in fact they did not meet until many years later when they became neighbors on a dead end mountain road in upstate New York. A long friendship developed as they rambled together through the woods and hills around their homes. Eventually the question arose: what might happen if their divergent musical paths were brought together. Long walks were abandoned for even longer recording sessions, and their debut CD, Your own Heart, is what happened. It offers an eclectic and fresh take on some of their favorite songs with a sprinkling of Mike’s originals in between. | | Joan Baez From Every Stage CDs (1976)
Your Own Heart
$11.45 Personnel: Joan Baez (vocals, guitar); Dan Ferguson, Larry Carlton (guitar); David Briggs (keyboards); James Imerson (bass); Jim Gordon (drums). Listening to this album a quarter century after the fact is an eerie experience; as a Baez fan of the same period and of a politically similar orientation at the time, this reviewer was shocked by the vitriol of the opening number, "(Ain't Gonna Let Nobody) Turn Me Around," especially given that the shows where this album was recorded dated from 1975. Was anyone (except maybe the Reagan-ites) ever really that angry at the Ford administration? Otherwise, Baez's trembling falsetto is in beautiful shape on songs ranging from Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" to "Oh, Happy Day." The album was recorded ...

Your Own Heart
$23.15 Rolland Harisona (wich actually is his real name), is the creator of a new concept. Making a french pop-rock music without any drums in the sound. With this, started the Jam Muppets. It was a "standalone" group since their beginning in 2003; doing all by themselves: albums, publicity, concerts…etc. They worked with various actors in the french music industry, such as Jacques Chopin (Mayra Andrade), Guizmo (Tryo), Alexandre Gonot (Alanis Morissette, Muse, Lara Fabian...etc). With more than 200 concerts (clubs, festivals, summer-stages...), the group become a serious and confident choice on the west coast. But because Rolland Harisona, is someone who likes the evolution, he decides in 2009 to take – such as Bruce Springsteen, one of his reference – a more personnal road, with his creations composed during ...
