ENGLISH BIO -TANKE was formed in London in 2003 and shortly after relocated to Mexico City. In 2005 this dark latin alternative rock group released the track 'Guerra Lunar' on the Diablito Records compilation Vol. I to great critical and fan acclaim. In 2006 they made their debut with the self-titled album 'TANKE' on Diablito Records featuring the singles 'Simbiosis' and 'Casa Del Fantoche' which received airplay/TV rotation on 'Reactor 105.7FM', Telehit y MTV Mexico. They introduced their audiovisual expression with almost machine like beats and rhythms joined by hypnotic bass lines mixed up with melodic guitar lines which embraces rock, goth, punk, glam, as well as industrial and new wave elements. The track 'Intro' was later released on 'Muchachitos De Porra II' compilation (produced by Miguel Huidobro from Molotov) in 2007. By 2008 Tanke returned with their second full-length CD, 'CUIDAD', with Diablito Records and a joint venture with Warner Music Mexico distribution. Tanke's bandmembers and musical influences are from across Europe, Mexico and Latin America. Vocalist/guitarist DIEGO and bassist ETHER are Mexican, Backing vocalist/visualist BEE is German, SEBASTIAN (Drummer) is from Uruguay while new guitarist RICK hails from Puerto Rico. They portray a picture of the walk of Mexico City life with a colorful and lighter sound still keeping the melancholic feel and their male and female layered voices always seem to border on desperation and anxiety while forming a bridge between reality and the imaginary world of each being.*****ESPANOL BIO - TANKE inicio en Londres en 2003 y poco despues se mudaron a la Cuidad de Mexico. Susan Boyle's grand unveiling on Britain's Got Talent was with a song from Les Miserables - the very song that lends this album its title -- and if she could become an international sensation based on a show tune standard, there's no reason for her to change her approach on her debut, since that's the sound that made her a star. Plus, a large part of Boyle's appeal is that she's a middle-aged woman recalling a bygone era when there were singers that appealed to an adult audience by offering soft, stately versions of pop hits and standards. That time was the late `60s and early `70s, and apart from a rather faithful version of Madonna's "You'll See," I Dreamed a Dream could very well have been released all those years ago, as it mixes up the show tunes, gospel, and Christmas carols with covers of Skeeter Davis' "The End of the World," the Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses," and a version of "Daydream Believer" that is easily the slowest on record. Boyle sings beautifully throughout, delivering more of the same of what she did in her moment in the sun on television. ...

Since Jimmy Buffett never leaves his comfort zone, it's hard to call 2009's Buffet Hotel a return to roots but, in a way, it is. Discounting the mock rap on "Turn Up the Heat and Chill the Rosé," this album doesn't even have the lingering country and reggae flavors that seasoned 2006's Take the Weather with You, with all of the songs riding a cool, mellow country-rock wave, the kind that has been his stock-in-trade since the `70s. There's a difference between being part of a tradition and being stuck in the past and Buffett is surely in the former, not shying away from the new millennial mess, admitting that we all have "A Lot to Drink About" and never flinching from his advancing years, most movingly on a cover of Bruce Cockburn's "Life's Short Call Now."
