| | Heidi Propp Strong & Wild CD Heidi Propp Discography of CDs
Heidi Propp, born June 4, 1981, began her musical career at the tender age of six, whereupon she began playing the piano and exercising her vocal prowess by singing with countless choirs and organizations. She also experimented with a number of instruments besides the piano, mastering the sax and eventually adding the guitar to her repertoire. Her musical schooling afforded her the opportunity to perform as a soloist in the stage play ‘Hair’, as well as in ‘Noah's Flood’, which traveled throughout Canada and into parts of the United States. Other highlights of her career have included opening the 1999 Peace Games with her flawless rendition of "O Canada", and singing alongside Pavarotti for then-President Bill Clinton in the summer of 1995, when she performed at the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations. In 2001 she joined the Eleanor Fulcher Talent Agency, where she was encouraged to participate in New York City's 2002 IMTA competition, and subsequently outshone four thousand contestants to win the title ‘Vocalist of the Year’. Returning to Toronto with such notable honors, Heidi entered the studio with producer Steve Sherman and set to work on such projects as ‘Wonder Girl’ and, later, collaborated with Canadian fiction author and lyricist, Laurie Lonsdale (www.authorsden.com/laurielonsdale), providing superlative vocals for three songs that act as a mini-soundtrack to Laurie's award-winning fourth novel, ‘Wild Side’ - a fast-paced and gritty rock 'n roll romp. Not only was the CD sold along with the book, but clips of the music were also prominently featured on the publisher’s website, whereby listeners were encouraged to write in and vote for their favorite song. The flood of mail received in which listeners requested to hear the songs on their favorite radio stations, caused Heidi and Laurie to team up again in 2005, this time to produce Heidi’s full-length debut CD, entitled ‘Strong and Wild’. Once again with producer Steve Sherman guiding the project, the 12-song collection is a pleasing mix of good-time rock tunes, one or two ballads, gut-wrenching lyrics and down and dirty guitar riffs, all with a touch of the blues added for good measure, and is a true testament to Heidi's multi-talent, as well as her adaptable personality and fun-loving spirit. The first ten of twelve songs featured on the CD were penned by Lonsdale, and the last two by Propp herself. Steve Sherman not only produced, but also played the majority of instruments, in particular, showcasing his exceptional dexterity on lead guitar. Backed by Lonsdale's Write On Music and Rosedale Records of Toronto, 'Strong and Wild' made it's debut Saturday Feburary 17/06 at the Indian Motorcycle Cafe and Lounge in Toronto. Propp's band brought the house down with loud and proud guitar solos and thundering drums, while Propp herself delivered the vocals as only she can to a packed house of appreciative fans. Following the first set that night, a deal was struck for the second track on the CD - Bleary - to be included in an upcoming movie. The first and second track "Cruisin" & "Bleary" were released to radio respectively shortly thereafter. $18.95 In October of 94' Tom Stahl had back surgery and that forced him to quit his truck-driving career. He had a degree in Communications, but had written a song or two, and with the support (constant urging) of his wife Lou, decided to continue in that direction. Tom picked up his guitar and turned to music. In early 1995 he went to an open mike at Nietzsche's in Buffalo NY with four original songs. The organizer of the open mike, Michael Meldrum, asked Tom to come back and do a showcase in March 1995. In the Spring of that same year, he brought his best tunes out on a debut cassette entitled "I Wanna Be Ignorant". Now there's a CD bearing the same name, the same tunes and a generous helping of extra tracks to go with them. The ball started rolling from there. In 1996, Tom came out with his second CD, entitled "The ...
