Dax Rossetti combines avant-pop tradition with a youthful sense of anguish and adventure. Whether dramatic ballads, orchestral pop, synthesizer-laden dance music, or raw solo acoustic, he is always flush with character. He is at once - wise, vulnerable and revealing. Currently residing in the UK, he hails originally from the fertile soil of northern Georgia. Raised in Atlanta and bequeathed with travelust at an early age. Living and working from San Francisco to New York, Los Angeles to Portland. His debut EP "Rooms Of Investment", written and recorded in New York City, is an exploration in the romantic fervor that often accompanies urban isolation. Rooms Of Investment album
$12.95 Daisy in her hair aside, Carrie Underwood looks flat-out glamorous on the cover of PLAY ON, which is a pretty fair indication of what awaits listeners on her third album. Carrie is still nominally a country artist and sometimes will sing supported by fiddles and steel guitar, but this is crossover pop pure and simple, whether it's the thundering rhythms on the Shania-styled strut "Cowboy Casanova" or the succession of maudlin melodies on the preponderance of power ballads. Carrie takes a much stronger presence as a writer here, co-authoring seven of the 13 songs, and she's attracted to hookless showstoppers designed to showcase her powerful voice. When she sticks to tunes written solely by the professionals, PLAY ON does have some slick pleasures, particularly on the breezy "Quitter" and "This Time," songs built on solid melodies and delivered ...
| | Lady Gaga Fame Monster CDs (2009) Deluxe Edition
Rooms Of Investment CD music
$16.24 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of "Bad Romance" and the updated ABBA revision "Alejandro," as it is on the rock & roll ballad "Speechless" -- its big guitars lifted from Noel Gallagher -- and the wonderful, perverse march "Teeth." Even the stuttering splices on "Telephone," a duet with Beyoncé, leans to the other side of the Atlantic, which just emphasizes the otherness that's become Gaga's calling card. And even as she's becoming omnipresent, with her songs mingling with those who ...

Rooms Of Investment album
$15.19 Raf Astor is considered a torchbearer in the new era of Latin Music.Through a traditional yet unique perspective, Raf and his band evocatively blend rumba and flamenco grooves, Salsa rhythms, and beautiful Latino melodies. His latest album, El Andar, encompasses his 'Afro-NewYorican' sound in a compelling manner - it's a pleasure to listen to and a challenge to sit still! Raf has led a consistent life of music. As the son of a trumpet player, he was exposed early on to the complex natures of jazz, classical, and world music. He chose the guitar as his channel - studying various styles and even teaching at the American Institute of Guitar. As he developed his personal style, his playing rapidly gravitated towards the world of Latin Music. Stemming from Caribbean and Latin rhythms, Raf's music has been described as "powerful, graceful, and simply brilliant." From the intoxicating melody of "Este Regalo" to the classic feel of "Con Gran Carino" and "Baila Mi Rumba," El Andar is as much a testament to the tradition of Latin Music as it is a blueprint for its future. In his hometown of New York City, Raf performs live regularly, which truly showcases the energy and vision embodied in his music. Raf is known for playing 'in the pocket,' and the lyrics are expressed eloquently by the gripping vocals ...
| | Bryan Hayes Long Hard Road CD (2006)
Rooms Of Investment CD music
$9.85 Singer/songwriter Bryan Hayes’ music has long reflected the musical passions that inspired him growing up in small town Brownsville, TN. From his debut album Just a Man to the demo EP I Want You Bad and the new studio album Long Hard Road, Hayes has continued to explore his passion and define his distinctive voice. With Long Hard Road, Hayes has both turned up the volume and subdued the mood, reminiscent of Petty’s Wildflowers or The Beatles White Album. On the strength of his tongue-in-check song “Parts Sold Separately”, Hayes’ 2004 Just a Man became an award-winning album (Parts Sold Separately and Soundtrack won Memphis Songwriter “Song of the Year” awards). The demo EP I Want You Bad followed in 2005, and saw the formation of Hayes’ band The Retrievers, which included co-writer Shannon Cooke and keyboardist Gee Brannon. Long Hard Road is very much a concept album: sixteen tracks of well-crafted and well-layered emotion. It has both a charming rock side and a vulnerable acoustic side. For Hayes making the album was indeed a long, hard road. “The original title was going to be I Want You Bad. And it was very much going to be a full-band, rock record.” Line-up changes at the eleventh hour forced Hayes to re-evaluate arrangements and song production. “I remember Shannon and I hastily writing “I Don’t Need You” in the studio,” says Hayes. “After that, a lot of the songs became more stripped down.”Hayes ...
