2 stars Great music - but - dubbed from vinyl?
One of the great soul vocal groups from the early 70s with a collection that goes beyond the Collectables and the German Atlantic/Win or Lose CD reissues in terms of tracks and time. BUT - unless this is a markedly defective CD- the sound is marred by what sounds like LP surface noise throughout - disappointing.

Jackson is best known for his 1967 smash, "But It's Alright," but he has some fine singles and a couple of excellent albums as well, and 1967's But It's Alright on the Calla label is one of them.
