Saxon led the charge in what would become known as the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (a movement that inspired countless longhairs to go loud, fast, and heavy). With 2007's THE INNER SANCTUM, the Yorkshire natives prove that they are as vital as ever--even 30-plus years after their formation. Original members Biff Byford (vocals) and Paul Quinn (guitar) are joined on this set by one-time GTR drummer Nigel Glockler, guitarist Doug Scarratt, and bassist Nibbs Carter.
This set is an outstanding new effort - a soon to be classic recording that kicks off with vintage heavy metal tracks, followed by some of their best classic hard rock'n'roll numbers, and continuing with several epic metal songs.

| Inner Sanctum Music Review Average Rating: (4.2 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews excellent Saxon record Saxon returns with a heavier sound and a great group of new songs. Biff and the band are inspired this time around and it shows (hey, when they're on, they are every bit as good as anyone in the business). My complaints are that the album is a bit on the short side and the production job has it sounding a bit too mid-rangy (nowhere near enough girth and bottom end). However, this one really rocks on par with the early stuff, Power & The Glory, Solid Ball of Rock, and Unleash the Beast. If you like Saxon, this one should do it for you. They still got it!! Wow!! This album has it all. It (as always), is very well produced, and the songs are heavy. These guys know how to make a record time and time again. Submitted by steve.a.myers (ottawa ontario) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Saxonized Their Baaaack ! Excellent new release from one of the longest running bands in the biz . The lean towards more heavy tunes continues on this album and reaches a fast and heavy pitch on songs like " Let Me Feel Your Power " and " Atila The Hun " . Even the more classic sounding Saxon tunes are delivered with a bit more punch and grind . Tight as always , with great lyrics on this one . A bit of a darker Saxon . Along the lines of " Metalhead " , but with more hook . This album will satisfy the avid Saxon fan , and hopefully pull in some new or lost fans due to the heavier sound . Only reason this falls short of a 5 star rateing is due to the rather mid-mixed sound production . Not bad , but could be better . The bonus DVD is an added plus . Although I would rather see bonus tracks of some sort than yet another live run down of old tunes . Submitted by Dragonbinder (Middle Earth) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Inner Sanctum album
$10.59 Despite all naysayers, and whatever the price, new wave of British heavy metal pioneers Saxon continue to persist year after year, label after label, lineup after lineup, through think and thin. They've continued to stubbornly wave the flag of British heavy metal, overcoming bad management decisions, misguided artistic directions, and widespread neglect on American soil to forge a respectable comeback in the mid-'90s. Indeed, the return to form initiated with 1992's Forever Free is delivered in full-force by 1999's Metalhead. Led by the instantly recognizable voice ...

Inner Sanctum music CDs
$11.39 In this day and age when the Misfits skull logo t-shirt is a common sight in discerning shopping malls across the country, it almost seems impossible to conceive of a time when the boys in black couldn't get a record deal to save (or lose) their souls. Yet this was the case with STATIC AGE, which is the recorded output of one of the earliest Misfits lineups. For years this album was only a rumor (although many of its tracks were collected on LEGACY OF BRUTALITY); it's presented here in the form the band originally intended.
Many of the songs will be familiar to those acquainted with the Misfits canon through releases such as Metallica's version of "Last Caress" and Guns And Roses' cover of "Attitude," but the originals pack an altogether more ghoulish punch ...
