Jane Fonda plays Iris, a good-natured hooker whose pay-and-play clientele includes a Whos Who of City Hall. But shes faithful to free-spirited parolee Jesse Veldini (Sutherland), whos itching to resume his career as a demolition derby driver. Peter Boyle, John Savage and Garry Goodrow co-star in this nutball charmer. A trio of establishment outcasts band together in the twilight of the 60s. The result is this offbeat caper starring Jane Fonda as Irish, the town prostitute, and Donald Sutherland as Veldini, a mild-mannered madman who dreams of making the world a better place by demolishing every automobile on the planet. Under his messianic spell, Iris and an unemployed acrobat help Veldini foment a Navy Yard break-in with the purpose of stealing a certain electrical part. They need it to get an old World War II plane flying again so they can wing off into the wild blue yonder -- leaving the society of repressive squares behind them. Three wacky misfits band together with the primary purpose of their loose-knit association being to cheat the establishment. One of their crazy ideas involves building an airplane of questionable airworthiness. AKA "The Final Crash." Color by Technicolor.

Actually, they don't so much meet her as fall under her spell when they first lay eyes on her. In her clinging red dress she looks like a cross between a beautiful damsel in ...

$93.15 This comprehensive set collects some of French New Wave director Luc Moullet's greatest films, including: THE SMUGGLERS, an imaginative and low-budget slapstick about a pair of criminals; A GIRL IS A GUN, a wild and very French take on the Western starring Truffaut muse Jean-Pierre Léaud as a Billy the Kid-like outlaw; BRIGITTE AND BRIGITTE, in which two identically-named women move to Paris to study film (allowing for cameos by legendary directors Sam Fuller, Claude Chabrol, and Eric Rohmer); UP AND DOWN, an absurdist look at a group of cyclists racing through the French Alps; ANATOMY OF A RELATIONSHIP, a playful examination of Moullet's ...
