Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles This critically acclaimed series, which ran from 1992 to 1998, focuses on the behind-the-scenes antics of self-loathing late night talk show host Larry Sanders (Garry Shandling) and his funny and often surprising interactions with crew, writers, and guests. Real celebrities (Dana Carvey, Billy Crystal, and more) appear on Larry's show as themselves, but the real fun happens before and after the show and during the commercial breaks! A fine supporting cast, led by Rip Torn as cantankerous producer Artie and Jeffrey Tambor as Larry's insecure sidekick Hank, helped to earn the program numerous Emmys and Cable Ace Awards. Includes the first thirteen episodes. Episodes:
1. What Have You Done For Me Lately
2. Promise
3. Spiders
4. The Guest Host
5. The New Producer
6. The Flirt
7. Hank's Contract
8. Out of the Loop

Larry Sanders Show, The - The Complete First Season Movie Review Great comedy series! All these episodes are as scathingly funny as they were the first time around...perhaps even more! Can't wait for the next season episodes to come out on DVD. What took them so long?

Larry Sanders DVD disappoints in quality. 'The Larry sanders Show' was one of the best comedys of the last 10 years or so...a marvellously observed portrait of an insecure chat-show host and his equally neurotic staff. Beautifully written, wonderful acting, and worryingly lifelike. Unfortunately the DVD is very badly mastered, with jerky picture and less-than-fantastic sound. Having the whole first seaon on one set is great, but the quality suffers compared to the 7-episode 'best of' disc from the UK, which is excellent quality.
5 stars for content, but two less for the discs. Submitted by a reviewer (London, England) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Best Talk Show Series Ever Great DVD set received at a great price from CD Universe.
Garry Shandling is great in this HBO series. A must-have for the fans of late-night talk shows.... Submitted by speedydvdman (Ansonia, CT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Really the Best! "Larry Sanders" is amazing comedy. I bought this first season a couple of years ago and I've rewatched it many times since. I guess that's the only problem. When is the rest of the show going to be released? It's now September 2006 and it's still a no-show. To someone who couldn't see it when it aired originally, and who lives in a place where the show is not available in reruns, the wait is painfully long. Please Mr. Shandling, you've reduced me to begging in an online review. Get it out! Submitted by artie (Seoul, Korea) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Awesome Show Let's hope they continue to produce more seasons, this is one of the best shows ever made! I am so glad I ordered this from CD Universe! Incredibly funny, the only problem is I always try to fast-forward through the commercials, and there aren't any! Very funny show, buy it today! $12.55 Don Coscarelli's BUBBA HO-TEP finds Elvis Presley (Bruce Campbell) alive but not so well, living in a small Texas nursing home. Although he's preoccupied with his ailments and his memories, the elderly Elvis befriends another resident who thinks he's John F. Kennedy (Ossie Davis) when they both begin to suspect that their neighbors aren't dying of natural causes. Their investigation leads to the discovery of an evil mummy with a fondness for cowboy gear and an appetite for the souls of senior citizens. Armed with little more than a walker and a wheelchair, the King and JFK must take on this ancient evil.
Based on a short story by Joe R. Lansdale, BUBBA HO-TEP mixes comedy, drama, and horror to create a remarkably quirky film. As the aged and ailing Elvis, Campbell gives an outstandingly funny and poignant performance, while Davis exudes intelligence and warmth as JFK. Although horror is a ...

Larry Sanders Show, The - The Complete First Season review
$14.49 When released theatrically in 1932, FREAKS was met with near universal disgust by critics and audiences alike, lasting in theatres for only a short time in the states and banned in England. The film stars Harry Earles as Hans, a suave midget who belongs to the sideshow of a seedy circus and who makes the mistake of falling in love with the beautiful Cleopatra, one of the "normal" circus performers. Learning that Hans is about to inherit a fortune, Cleopatra agrees to marry Hans even though she abhors him, planning to steal his money and get rid of him. When the freaks of the circus, who keep a watchful eye on Cleopatra, ...

The only sane member of the family is Linsay's twin brother Michael (Jason Bateman), a widower who stands to inherit the reins to the family corporation when his father retires.
