It’s hard to top the first Prophet Posse but still fire! This album is very tight considering Three 6 Mafia isn't on here. Whoever put this together did a good job considering he had to get everyone he could from the old click together! He also added Yo Gotti, Pastor Troy, Playa Fly and other new ones. COULDVE BEEN BETTA! This album wasnt what I expected. I gave it 3 stars but even that was pushin it mane! And tha Arkansas cat was speakin da truth too. I been bumpin M-town rappers ish since forever and it is a shame they wont come togetha. So many good rappers like Three 6, Wyte, Fly, Boo, Gangsta Blac, Frayser Boy, Yo Gotti, Al Kapone, Lord, Chat, Project Pattah, man I could go on and on! Memphis underground rap is tha ish mane! They need to squash dis cuz THA SOUTH need to see Memphis get tha shine they deserve mane. Submitted by Big Mike (Orlando, FL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
SCARFO N PAUL: READ THIS... If you heard tha first Prophet Posse CD you would laugh at this one! Some of tha verses was tight and a few beats was okay but this CD just didnt do it for me. And seriously, WHEN will Memphis rappers quit hatin on each otha and stop competin wit HCP? Memphis is home to tha realest rappers in tha game but steady focus on dissin each otha or more famous rappers to come up! Im reppin Arkansas and even "I" hate seein this. Yall holdin yaself back so dont blame it on nobody else. Three 6 n P.Posse just reunite! Submitted by Ken (Pine Bluff,AR) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Augustus Pablo Rockers Meet King Tubby In A Fire House CD (1980)
Return: Part 1 album
$14.55 As is often the case with albums that come from deep within the insular world of 1970s Kingston, the title of this one bears a little bit of explanation. "Rockers" was the nickname given to melodica player and producer Augustus Pablo; on this album, as on several other classics of the genre, he is teamed up with dub wizard Osbourne Ruddock (better known as King Tubby) to deliver a set of dub mixes derived from singles by Hugh Mundell, Delroy Williams, and others. (King Jammy, one of King Tubby's protégés, also contributes a few mixes here, but is uncredited.) "Fire House" is an ironic reference to the Waterhouse section of Kingston, where King Tubby's studio was located. On this collection, Pablo's sound predominates: his eerie melodica lines snake in and out of the mix, and the gentle-but-firm grooves that always typify a Rockers production are in full force. King Tubby contributes the special element of dubwise alchemy that was his own trademark, administering echo and delay at judicious intervals and keeping the general atmosphere mysterious and seductive. Because of the nature of the music and its consistently high quality, highlights are a bit difficult to pick out, but they include the very dread "Zion Is a Home" and the equally fine "Dub in a Matthews Lane Area," which could be used as a master class in dub technique. ~ Rick Anderson

Return: Part 1 CD music
$18.99 From the prairies of Alberta, Canada, Jesse Dee’s unique brand of folk music is distinctly vintage yet unmistakably contemporary. Incorporating a vocal appoach much like the blues, his songs are laden with sincere story-telling, tender laments, and clever hooks.Over the years Dee has honed his skills the old fashioned way. By playing as much as is humanly possible. Though enlisting in music school for a short stint 5 years ago, Jesse found ...
