Losing touch. I think the wwe is losing touch in it's pay per views and extravaganzaes such as wrestlemania and many other 2007 released pay per views. This is something you watch once or twice'' and chuck it like pulumbo. To me this does not live up to the expectation givin. It is a waste of time and money. The wwe need to improve to get back to where it once was. Submitted by DEion Barnes (Chicago) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 3 found this helpful. | | R. Kelly - Trapped In The Closet: Chapters 1-12 DVD (2005)
WWE - Wrestlemania 23 review
$9.69 Released on the eve of R. Kelly's court date, where he faced some serious charges and a very incriminating videotape, the first five chapters of the Closet Cycle confused, amazed, and delighted his fans. The entirety of the series, including all 12 chapters, is sure to have the same effect. Essentially an R&B soap opera, complete with the sets, lighting, convoluted plotlines, and scandalous secrets of daytime TV, TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET features its star and a cast of characters very literally acting out the actions the song describes. The plot involves numerous infidelities, a homosexual affair, a gun, and--as this is an R. Kelly piece of work--at least one steamy sex scene. The attention to detail is astounding, hilarious, and typical of Kelly, as he describes everything from the fear he experiences while hiding from his lover's husband, to the leg cramp he gets while having sex with his wife. Kelly's smooth vocals give voice to everything, even as the different characters mouth the lyrics. Though the project recalls the cheating themes of old blues songs, evokes the look of daytime drama, and contains the controlled raunchiness of vintage Kelly, it's safe to say that TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET represents ...
| | M C Eiht Affiliated CD (2006) Enhanced CD
WWE - Wrestlemania 23 DVD
$13.19 This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Containing both DVD interview and music video footage, MC Eiht's 19th album is a restatement of his roots, as well as a musical shout out to his fellow West Coast and Southern homies. The album marks the first time he's worked with a woman rapper, the formidable Jaz, whose "Gangsta Minded" is a tour de force of gritty reality. Eiht also features up-and-comer Big2 DaBoy on one of AFFILIATED's highlights, "2 Compton MF'z," a fascinating comparison of the two rappers' styles, while he spits out his anger on the accusatory "Smoke This," a diatribe against artists who refuse to deal with real life in their music. Affiliated is the second high-quality latter-day MC Eiht album in a row, following the strong Veterans Day release from 2004. This renaissance is a quiet one for Eiht, as these albums are independently released and quite far off the mainstream radar. Yet that's partly their appeal: they don't sound like every other major-label rap album out there. They certainly have character -- a sort of homemade charm to them, thanks in no small part to Tha Chill, who produces the majority of both albums -- and this sense of nonuniformity goes a long way toward setting them apart from a lot of the often-generic albums Eiht put out during the late '90s. At this point in his career, Eiht is a godfather-like figure, albeit one who seems to feel unappreciated and victimized by biters. This attitude is clear throughout his lyrics, where he's continually deriding the contemporary generation of upstarts as posers, if not fake altogether. Sure, it can feel like bitterness, and some of the saltiest rhetoric here is indeed informed by bitterness. But there's ...

| | Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - The Sixth Year DVDs (2004)
WWE - Wrestlemania 23 DVD
$42.45 This award-winning show is a spin-off of NBC's incredibly popular and long-running crime drama, LAW & ORDER. Starring Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay (who won an Emmy for her work on the show) as Detectives Stabler and Benson, SVU focuses on the often shocking world of sex crimes. Rather than spending half the program's hour with the cops and the other half with the lawyers, the series stays with the police and the criminals they pursue for most of the show. Set in New York City, the gripping sixth season's cast features investigators John Munch (Richard Belzer) ...
