(1 Customer Review)
Imperia is an atmospheric metal band who's sound is especially evident by the distinguished and remarkable strong voice of Helena Iren Michaelsen (ex- Trail Of Tears), who sings in a variety of styles from deep emotional feelings to extreme operatic expressions. The music is full of vivacity, it is heavy, bombastic and orchestral, but it also contains elements of pure metal. The band is a true cross-border unit of musicians originating from different countries: Norway, Finland, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands. Through hard work and extensive touring the band has earned its reputation as a powerful live band. Imperia Queen Of Light Songs | 1. | Mirror |

Queen Of Light album
$14.69 After 2005's Aeronautics, Masterplan experienced some major lineup changes. Singer Jorn Lande and drummer Uli Kusch (of Helloween and Gamma Ray fame) both left the band -- and on 2007's MK II, the newcomers include Mike DiMeo (formerly of Riot) on lead vocals and Mike Terrana (who has played with Yngwie Malmsteen) on drums. But keyboardist Axel Mackenrott and guitarist Roland Grapow (formerly of Helloween) are still on board; in fact, Grapow is the band's leader and produced MK II -- which, despite the personnel changes, is not a stylistic departure from Aeronautics. Despite having a new lead singer and a new drummer, Masterplan still sounds like Masterplan -- and that means continuing to provide aggressive but melodic and intricate power metal with a strong progressive rock influence. Before MK II, Masterplan's sound was best described as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Ronnie James Dio with an awareness of Rush, Journey and Emerson, Lake & Palmer; that description is equally appropriate on MK II. Like Aeronautics, MK II is proudly, stubbornly caught in a stylistic timewarp; this album is totally oblivious to post-'80s developments in metal, and Grapow maintains his loyalty to the power metal and prog rock of the '70s and '80s. Of course, there is no law stating that all bands have to be innovative; the reality is that the vast ...
| | White Lion Return Of The Pride CD (2008) Bonus Tracks
Queen Of Light CD music
$12.59 The last time White Lion issued a new studio album, the musical world was a very different place. Hair metal was still en vogue, but its death knell was rapidly approaching (with the arrival of Nirvana). The group collapsed soon after the lukewarm reception bestowed upon the release of 1991's Mane Attraction, and remained in hibernation until the late '90s, until singer Mike Tramp began touring under a few different White Lion-related names (such as "Remembering White Lion" and "Tramp's White Lion") and issuing live albums. But 2008's Return of the Pride is the first post-1991 release to be credited solely to White Lion. Despite Tramp being the only member present from the group's late-'80s glory days, the group's heavy yet melodic sound remains very much intact. Instead of attempting to give White Lion an updated stylistic makeover, much of Return of the Pride sounds as if it could have been released in 1989 and not be out of place at all. New guitarist Jamie Law manages to fill Vito Bratta's shoes pretty well, which is no small task (as Bratta was considered one of the more talented "shredders" of the hair metal era). Close your eyes and be prepared to be taken back to the carefree days of hair spray, spandex, and cowboy boots, as evidenced by such unmistakably White Lion-sounding tracks as the surprisingly heavy album opener, "Sangre de Cristo," as well as "Live Your Life" and the obligatory power ballad, "Never Let You Go." ~ ...

| | Warrel Dane Praises To The War Machine CD (2008)
Queen Of Light songs
$13.85 The metal singer Warrel Dane is a cut above many of his peers, with a nuanced vocal approach that belies the genre's usual cookie-cutter, guttural stylings. But even though he's sensitive, he's still no wimp. "When We ...
| | Into Eternity Incurable Tragedy CD (2008)
Queen Of Light album
$13.09 An album that refuses to curl up in one convenient metal genre box, THE INCURABLE TRAGEDY draws on the entire spectrum to create music that is powerful and dramatic, yet cohesive. The athletic fretwork, twisting leads, and yowling operatic vocals of classic power metal ...

| | Ray Bryant Live At The Basin Street East CD (1964)
Queen Of Light music CDs
$9.85 Ray Bryant's second album for Sue was the one of two releases taped during an engagement at Basin Street East in New York City in 1964. The pianist is joined by bassist Jimmy Rowser and drummer Ben Riley (neither of whom is credited on the album jacket). This LP concentrates primarily on standards, although one pop song of the period (Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind") is thrown in, along with a pair of Bryant's originals. The piano ...

| | Disco Kandi, Vol. 5.3 CDs (2003) 34
Queen Of Light album
$23.45 This funky, energetic collection features club-ready tunes such as "Stereo's Flava," "Kiss My Eyes," and "Everytime I Feel It."
Respect is due to Hed Kandi for consistency. Somehow through the past several years they managed to maintain the same level of quality and committment to releasing deep house music without compromise. This is no small feat in the electronic music compilation market. However, Disco Kandi is exactly what you get on Disco Kandi, Vol. 5.3, as there are no unexpected surprises to be found anywhere within the two-CD set. It's a evenly paced, anonymously compiled session full of filtered house loops inspired by classic disco. Even disco/soul legend Linda Clifford makes a guest appearance courtesy of Prospect Park's "Spinnin'." Yet while the inside is evenly tempered and perfect for a house party when you can't afford a DJ, there isn't much else noteworthy about the tracks included inside that sets them apart from other installments in the Disco Kandi series. The packaging and design is breathtaking ...
