The delightful 1920s singer Annette Hanshaw, one of the most popular voices of the Jazz Age, was frequently accompanied by some of jazz's most accomplished players, including Eddie Lang, Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, Joe Venuti, and Red Nichols. Her sparkling treatments of such period classics as "Six Feet of Papa" and "Walkin' My Baby Back Home" may not qualify as classic jazz, but her relaxed delivery and phrasing provided the inspiration for a generation of pioneering female vocalists. WOW! One of the great unknown talents of the 1920's/1930's
Ain't She Sweet CD music WOW! I bought this CD only because I'd heard Annette Hanshaw's name mentioned in D. Ain't She Sweet buy CD music Russell Connor's bio-discography of Benny Goodman (who's on three songs here; future swing stars the Dorsey brothers are also represented).
