Her compositions explore different musical worlds, moods, feelings; swinging tunes with sections in different meters and characters, delicate ballads of static harmony, hypnotic loops. Simona Premazzi, pianist and composer, grew up in a small village in the north of Italy and began her jazz studies in the cosmopolitan city of Milano. At a certain point she fell in love with Afro-American music and soon enrolled in the famous Jazz School Academy (under the direction of Enrico Intra and Franco Cerri). During her student career she became part of the most interesting bands associated with the academy, including the 'Mingus Fingers' septet (playing the music of Charles Mingus) and Enrico Intra`s 'Jazz Big Band', with whom she spent 4 years performing on the great Italian stages and theatres with Italian and international musicians such as Markus Stockhausen, David Raksin, Franco Cerri, James Newton, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Dave Liebman, Eddie Daniels, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu and many others. She moved to New York in 2004 where she studied with Fred Hersch, Jason Moran, Jean Michel Pilc, Harry Whitaker and began soon to work regularly in jazz clubs. In February 2005 her 4et appeared on the television documentary 'Sounds Of Harlem' for CBS. January and March 2007 interview and trio appearance on a special TV for Italian Television RAI 'TG2 Storie'Among the others she played and plays with: J. D. Dontae Winslow is one of music's "rising stars" and educators. He grew up in the tough neighborhood of Coppin Heights, on West North Avenue, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was trained in music at the formidable Baltimore School for the Arts high school. While there Dontae starred in 2 regional commercials, and one public service announcement for AIDS awareness. In three years, he attained a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Classical Music Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the John's Hopkins University. In 1997 Dontae was a semi-finalist in the Thelonious Monk International Trumpet Competition and a finalist in the Marvin Hamlisch "Search for a Star" competition. Opening for such masters as Maya Angelou, Ashford and Simpson, and Wayne Shorter has elevated Dontae to the forefront of young innovators in music.
