Rapid City Muscle Car album
$10.49 A HARD DAY'S NIGHT presents a fictionalized day in the life of the Beatles as they give a performance on a live television show. Filmed just a month after their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in February 1964, this film--the Beatles' first--introduces us to the unique personalities of each member of the band. The film opens with the Fab Four boarding a train mobbed with adoring young fans (mostly women) as they attempt to travel to the ...
| | King Crimson In The Court Of The Crimson King CD (1969) Bonus Tracks
Rapid City Muscle Car CD music
$102.39 Initial pressings featured a limited edition, cardboard-stock gatefold sleeve and unpublished archive photos.
KC's debut album introduced to the world a group that threw various '60s genres into a blender and set the results afire with a blowtorch. One of the pioneers of the progressive rock movement that began in the late '60s and flourished in the early '70s, King Crimson was arguably the most consistently creative band in the genre. On IN THE COURT they blend wispy, Donovan-ish folk-rock with Wagnerian grandeur, mind-bending heavy rock, and even a free- jazz sensibility. Greg Lake's vocals are effectively theatrical but more restrained than in his later ELP work. Robert Fripp was just learning how to make mincemeat of a chord progression, but he's alternately lyrical and frenetic as the moment requires.
The extended jams on cuts like "Moonchild" are light-footed and inventive, never ponderous, thanks largely to ...

| | Daughtry Leave This Town CD (2009)
Rapid City Muscle Car album
$15.45 When he was recording his debut album in 2006, Chris Daughtry didn't have the time to assemble the real rock band he so desperately wanted to have, so it appeared under the band name Daughtry without featuring any of the musicians who later became part of the group. That's not the case with LEAVE THIS TOWN, Daughtry's second record: all five members are glowering on the album cover, floating like specters over an abandoned Californian street. The five rockers serve as visual evidence that Daughtry is a band, not a person, and such reminders may be necessary because LEAVE THIS TOWN doesn't differ much in feel or form from DAUGHTRY. Overall, LEAVE THIS TOWN isn't quite as studio slick as DAUGHTRY, which was fueled by Chris Daughtry's desire prove that he ...
| | Sting If On A Winter's Night... CDs (2009) Digipak
Rapid City Muscle Car CD music
$12.19 It's no secret that Sting is a serious man, so it's only logical that his holiday album -- his first new music since the Police reunion, not that it really matters -- is a serious endeavor, thank you. No niceties for him, no comforts of carols; he favors formal over familiar, writing madrigals, not ditties. It is music made by someone who lives in a castle, which isn't necessarily such a bad thing: the austerity is genuine, not affected, and the cerebral nature of the album is fascinating, albeit mildly so, as this is as sleepy as it is thoughtful. And it's that thoughtfulness that does distinguish IF ON A WINTER NIGHT...; no other Christmas album exists in the head like this. It's a holiday album for people who have never wanted to hear a holiday album, let alone own one.

| | Anthony Newley Best Of CD (1997) (Import) United Kingdom
Rapid City Muscle Car music CDs
$10.49 Spectrum Music, the British discount-priced reissue imprint of PolyGram, presents a 20-track condensation of Anthony Newley's recordings for Decca Records between 1959 and 1965 on The Very Best of Anthony Newley. Newley's career as a pop star came as something of a surprise following his success as a stage and film actor. It grew out of his portrayal of the Elvis Presley-like rock star Jeep Jackson in the film Idle on Parade; his first hit, "I've Waited So Long," was a song he sang in the picture. That tune turns up toward the end of the disc, but up front, skipping over the "Idle on Parade" EP, the album's first 11 tracks chronicle, in order, the rest of Newley's U.K. singles chart entries through 1962, starting with his Top Ten cover of Lloyd Price's "Personality." The rest include pop tunes like Lionel Bart's "Do You Mind?" (covered for the American market by Andy Williams), romantic ballads, ...

$6.39 Born in Kentucky on an army base, RPM grew up in Virginia. Studying classical voice, piano and flute at a young age, she then moved on to electric guitar & headed to New York after (barely) enduring parochial high school. While working the "requisite shitty jobs & enduring the requisite shitty life experiences," and performing on stage, television, and Bleeker Street, RPM received a degree concentrating in Epic Literature from NYU. She then took off to Los Angeles and began working with various songwriters, musicians and producers. One of those collaborators was Frank Gryner (A Perfect Circle, Rob Zombie) with whom RPM would go on to create her debut CD IRRATIONAL ANTHEM (January '04).Releasing IRRATIONAL ANTHEM through her own independent label 7940 Records is something RPM didn't ...
