Lost Recordings album
$11.49 Bump was formed in Detroit Michigan in 1969 around the talents of George Runyan (lead vocals & bass), Paul Lupien (keyboards, backing vocals), Jerry Greenberg (drums, backing vocals and Alan Goldman (guitar). During the late 60's Bump built a solid reputation for themselves on the touring circuit and opened shows for such big names as Alice Cooper, Terry Reid and many others. In 1969 the band recorded two singles and their first album for the small Pioneer label. The original pressing of the album released in 1970, is highly sought-after and fetch outrageous amounts on the collectors market. The music of Bump is an organ-based progressive pop sound in the British style. The songs are rich with keyboards and some fine guitar/organ interplay. While the material is quite pop orientated in places, the ten-minute closing "Lifeline, Decisions, You Can't Even Think," does have its moments and would please any progressive rock fan. Bump recorded a second album but it was never released. This is the first official reissue of the Bump album and it features all of the nine songs found on the original pressing together with ...
| | Children Rebirth CD (1967)
Lost Recordings CD music
$10.99 This edition of REBIRTH includes material released by 2 predecessor bands, The Stoics and The Mind's Eye. Also includes bonus tracks originally released as 45's.
The first half of Rebirth is a rather phenomenal document: mood-driven and densely textured psychedelia at its very best. "Daybreak" opens the album with what seems to be a fairly quaint ditty until its controlled eruptions of orchestration, unique and enticing, cause the music to grow in dimension. "Maypole" also initially leans toward preciousness, the themes of childhood naïveté employed by dozens of bands in the wake of Sgt. Pepper's, but in its seesawing-calliope backing and minor-key shifts there is also something compellingly creepy that resonates more of shadows than innocence. It leads wonderfully into "Don't Ever Lose It," a macabre fairy tale as enigmatically disorienting as it is rocking, and the delicate "Beautiful," which (particularly ...
| | Moon Project Without Earth/The Moon CD (2002) (Import) United Kingdom
Lost Recordings music CDs
$15.65 Moon were a sort of second-tier supergroup in the late 1960s, led by pianist and songwriter Matthew Moore, drummer and producer Larry Brown (late of the Bel-Aires and Davie Allan & the Arrows), and ex-Beach Boy David Marks on guitar, with Andy "Drew" Bennett on bass (Bennett was replaced by the time of the group's second album by David Dawson, formerly of Hearts & Flowers). For all that pedigree, though, Moon received little support from their label, Imperial Records, and the group's two albums, 1968's Without Earth and 1969's Moon, went virtually unheard when they were released. Fans of period pop psychedelia found the albums irresistible, however, and the group has enjoyed a kind of low-key cult status ever since, leading to Rev-Ola's reissue of both albums on one CD, along with a handful of bonus tracks that include a couple of mono 45 mixes and three tracks from Moore's pre-Moon band, Matthew Moore Plus 4. Sounding a bit like a low rent version of the Zombies or the Left Banke, it is easy to see why fans of baroque-'60s pop are so enamored of Moon, but like many bands from the era who fell under the influence of the Beatles, the absence of strong songs and ...
| | Psychedelic States: Illinois In The '60S Vol. 1 CD (2004)
Lost Recordings songs
$11.59 27 track collection contains many songs that have never been released before. Features a load of Illinois psychedelic groups including Poother, Ultd., Children Of Darkness, Nervous System, The Untamed, The Todds, Mourning Daze, Intruders, Lord & The Flie
Gear Fab Records has continued to unearth some of the most obscure '60s psychedelic sides for their massive undertaking of issuing these records region by region, in this case, Illinois. It's a remarkable task, especially since so many relics from the psychedelic era have already been mined for the immensely popular Nuggets box sets, the Pebbles collections, and myriad other small-label collections, but even more of a feat is that the Psychedelic States: Illinois in the '60s, Vol. 1 collection is a truly enjoyable set of quality songs, not just the bottom of the barrel. Based on Gear Fab releasing three volumes of psych from Florida and two each from New York and Alabama, ...
