Following the chart-topping pop punk of their first three albums, GOOD MORNING REVIVAL is to Good Charlotte what WARNING was to their obvious stylistic forebears, Green Day: an attempt to expand the stylistic confines of their music without losing sight of what their fans want to hear. GOOD MORNING REVIVAL isn't trying to capture critical favor, nor is it a self-important concept album or stylistic experiment. Instead, twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden incorporate new and different musical influences into their now familiar sound, and the brothers' lyrics feature a newfound maturity and personal viewpoint that was not always so obvious on their earlier albums. Indeed, the power ballad "Where Would We Be," a paean to Joel's break-up with his pop princess ex, Hilary Duff, is the most autobiographical song so far in the band's oeuvre. Elsewhere, the moody, pessimistic "The River" and the defiantly optimistic closer "March On" neatly define the album's emotional poles.

Certainly you've heard the song on the radio : Clocks, by Coldplay. Now, listen to the choruses in the thacks 7 and 10. Notice something familiar? The drums! It looks like GC wanted this album so sound so "radiophonic" that they didn't embarass themselves hiding the "success elements" of other hits into their songs. It may sound negative so far, but I love the new GC much more now that they sound more "pop". (Please never end up sounding like Simple Plan...) Anyway, loved the album, hesitant to buy it because I dont know if I'll stay hooked for long, but still. Go for it! It's on my iPod so it has to be good!

this is probably the best album ive ever bought. the songs are sick and they have matured over time to something great.

Listening to "Misery", i can tell the next track and the one after is gonna be hot. i just love that GC tried something new and different by adding the techno-electronica feel to the album. The first single "Keep Your Hands of My Girl" is a totally fun song and i love how Billy Martin play around with his keyboard. makes a cool club sound. The second single "The River" which features M.Shadows & Synyster Gates from A7X, are AWESOME! With M.Shadows vocals and Synyster Gates's guitar solo, nothing could go wrong in this track. My fave tracks from this album is of course Misery, The River, Keep Your Hands..., Dance Floor Anthem, Break Apart.., Broken Hearts Parade and Where Would We Be Now.

The new sound Good Charlotte presents is definitely within their vocal and musical capabilities. This album is definitely one of those few that make you sit back and go, "I feel good with this song on."
Listen to it with an open mind, after all music is opinions.

Good Morning Revival is the best Good Charlotte Album by far. I absolutely love it. I can't stop listening to it.
I have to say my favorite songs, are; Misery, The River, Keep Your Hands Off My Girl, All Black, Broken Hearts Parade, and March On.

While Los Lobos have made a handful of great albums during the course of their career, you have to see them live to fully appreciate their status as one of America's best rock bands. Their material is smart and wildly eclectic, they're superb musicians whose interplay has been honed to a fine edge by years of road work, and they know that great chops will never be as important as a strong dose of sweaty enthusiasm if you want to get over with an audience; put it all together and you get a group that never disappoints a crowd. It's a bit surprising that, after more than thirty years together, no one ever thought to record a Los Lobos live album, but in the summer of 2004, as the band was celebrating their official 30th Anniversary, they brought in a camera crew and a mobile recording truck to document a two-night stand at San Francisco's Fillmore Auditorium; the results were released as a DVD in late 2004, and now an audio-only version of Live at the Fillmore has come out on CD. Given how impressive a backlog of material this band has, it's almost inevitable that Live at the Fillmore would be a bit of a disappointment, given that there's only so many of los Lobos' many great songs can appear on a single disc, especially since the band puts the strongest focus on their most recent material in this set. But with an eye towards history, they do offer a taste from most of their albums in these 14 songs (going all the way back to 1984's And a Time to Dance), and the recording gear caught the band on a good night -- Los Lobos are clearly having a good time on these tunes, and playing with confidence, style and soul, running the gamut from the flat-out rock of "Good Morning Aztlan" and "Viking" to the soulful Latin groove of "Cumbia Raza," finally closing with an impassioned cover of Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On." John Lombardo was a founding member of 10,000 Maniacs who wrote or co-wrote with Natalie Merchant the first two indie albums that got them signed to Elektra Records.
