$15.65 Despite his weak eyesight, Rudyard Kipling's son Jack was determined to serve in the military during World War I. Unlike many parents, Kipling was adamant that his son have the opportunity to see action and uphold the values that were a constant motif in his writing. By way of influence Jack finally made it to the front, never to return, and Kipling would spend years of his life trying to uncover his son's fate. This Masterpiece Theatre production is the story of one aspect of the writer's life that was more tragic than anything depicted in his adventure stories. Daniel Radcliffe takes off Harry Potter's robes to star in this serious drama.
In 1914, Rudyard Kipling (David Haig) is at the peak of his literary fame and is the British Empire's greatest supporter. With World War I fast approaching, Kipling's son, Jack (Daniel Radcliffe), is determined to serve his country but finds himself rejected due to his extremely poor eyesight. ...

Horowitz - A Reminiscence DVD
$8.79 Director Ron Howard delivers his finest effort with his extraordinary film, A BEAUTIFUL MIND, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2001. Based loosely on Sylvia Nasar's acclaimed biography of mathematician John Forbes Nash, the film is a compelling look at one man's genius, his debilitating mental illness, and the fine line between the two. A BEAUTIFUL MIND begins with Nash (Russell Crowe) at Princeton, where he struggles to think of an original idea, and the stroke of genius that will make him matter. Nash is eccentric, socially awkward, and extremely competitive. Eventually, he finds the inspiration for his innovative and influential work on game theory. He's chosen for a post at MIT, which includes crucial code-breaking work for the US government. There, he meets a beautiful and brilliant student, Alicia (Jennifer Connelly). They marry but their happiness is threatened, as Nash, belatedly diagnosed as schizophrenic, descends into madness. Screenwriter Akiva Goldsman cannily condenses Nash's story, and the film manages to dramatize both Nash's mathematical brilliance and his schizophrenia in a compellingly visual manner. Crowe delivers a strong performance, and has real chemistry with Connelly. The two make the film's story about the power of love believable and moving.

Horowitz - A Reminiscence video
$12.15 Featuring a bevy of up-an-coming young talent, and set in a posh California suburb, THE HILLZ has all the trappings of a successful teen drama; this is tempered by a darkly comic, surreal tone. Steve 5 (Jesse Woodrow, CHASING THE DRAGON) is a first-year college student on course to become a professional baseball player; he returns home for summer break to find his neighborhood and old friends drastically different. His best friend Duff (Rene Heger, MTV's UNDRESSED) has become the sadistic leader of a gang of kids who take what they want, when they want it; drugs, money, and sex, are now in abundant supply, but the neighborhood is overrun with crime and ultra-violence. Unfortunately, Steve 5 wants what he can't have, the sexy Heather (Paris Hilton, THE SIMPLE LIFE); he struggles to navigate this new, almost anarchic territory, attempting to win Heather away from her apparently perfect boyfriend (model Jason Shaw).
Beneath the tranquil atmosphere of The Hillz, four affluent suburban teens are caught up in a web of spiraling violence, drug addiction and casual sex. After a year away at college, Steve 5 (Charmed's Jesse Woodrow) returns to find his neighborhood radically changed. His best friend, Duff (Rene Heger, MTV's ...
