||its like a good speech at the right time|
people who have watched this movie will get a small incite to what is still going on in this world on a very large scale, if its not seen its not mentioned,unfortunately Roots was made a little late for the people who it spoke for.Just like the movies of the future will be made a little on the late side. Its not a good thing to keep to many secrets hidden for 50 to 70 years, the damage may be ireverseable.

||Astounding! Changed the course of television history|
Roots (1977) changed the course of television history by elevating the work being produced on TV to the realm of art. Superbly acted and directed Roots (1977) explored one of the most shameful subjects in American history, that of slavery and perhaps for the first time whites understood just a small part of what the blacks have gone through. Though melodramatic in spots, and perhaps lacking in the drama of today's standards, the film is still powerful and packs an enormous punch. Watching it again after thirty years was a srewarding as seeing it for the first time so long ago. A soaring work of art.

||ROOTS IS THE BEST MOVIE|
This movie is the most inspirational movie I have ever watched. It shows how far our country has came since slavery. "Through Lord our God all things are possible" and the men and women who treated African Americans the way they did in this movie will one day be punished. I recommend that everybody watch this movie. You'll cry! You'll laugh! And your heart will be in the hands of the slaves throughout the whole movie!!!

I saw this on TV when it first aired back in 1976. I bought the 25th Anniversary Collection 5 years ago. This is a must see for everyone.
