The destiny for these Swedish crusaders is power and glory! The story continues as follows: During the search for a label to promote the debut album Haterush landed a deal with the Greek record company Black Lotus Records. They immediately started to promote Haterush worldwide with the first album "Mark of the warrior". Ever since then it has been a good companionship. After hundreds and hundreds of interviews and reviews the album "Mark of the warrior" has been very well recieved all over the world. In the summer of 2005 Haterush parted ways with bassplayer Magnus Wall. Also during 2005 Haterush gained a new member in Carl Berglund, an old friend who found his place as second guitarist in the band. After this the work with the second album "Baptised In Fire" begun. Baptised In Fire
$6.49 Digitally remastered using 20-bit technology by George Marino (1998, Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
Bon Jovi's 1984 debut not only became a blueprint for the band's multi-platinum releases of later years, but a definitive work for an entire genre. Though scores of short-lived pop-metal bands rocketed to popularity on the success of this release, the time-weathered BON JOVI continues to stand out from the pack.
"Runaway," with its infectious hook and keyboard work from E-Streeter Roy Bittan, was discovered by a New York DJ and gave the band some early exposure. "She Don't Know Me" is a catchy mid-tempo rocker. "Shot Through the Heart" turns the hard-rocking pulse up a few notches, with Richie Sambora letting loose on the kind of solo that would be copied by a plethora of L.A. bands. David Bryan's keyboards, an integral part of the group's sound, work nicely on the melodic rocker "Breakout." At a time when synthesizers dominated the pop landscape, Bon Jovi used them to gloss a heavy-rock foundation. "Come Back" shows the enormity of the charisma and emotion that Jon poured into his singing. BON JOVI is a great debut by a band in its underground, formative ...

| | Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow CD (1975) Remastered
Baptised In Fire
$6.55 After British maestro guitarist Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple in 1974, he recruited Purple Records signees Elf as his backing band. And although Rainbow's 1975 debut was only a hint of future greatness, the album more than holds its own.
Elf was led by dramatic metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who seemed to connect with Blackmore in quite a chemical fashion. "Man on the Silver Mountain" is prime material, as is the six-minute blues-metal classic "Catch the Rainbow." Dio's shining vocals, shown to great effect here, have been emulated by hard rock ...
| | Karelian Folk Music Ensemble CD (1995)
Baptised In Fire
$13.85 The Karelian Folk Music Ensemble (KFME) is the only touring group of musicians playing traditional folk songs and instrumentals of Karelia, a large region that is part in Russia and part in Finland. Warmly received wherever they perform, the KFME are the keepers of the flame for this distinctive ethnic music. The Karelian Folk Music Ensemble is a professionally trained and widely traveled trio of singers and musicians from Petrozavodsk, in the Republic of Karelia, Russia. The ensemble's music is an exciting and interesting mix of Finnish, Russian and Karelian cultures. They sing in Finnish, Karelian and Russian, as well as perform instrumental and dance music. The ensemble first came to the US in 1991 as a university group with the Petrozavodsk State University. They have since released two recordings on the Gadfly label, "The Karelian Folk Music Ensemble" (an all-instrumental CD) and "Ingrian Folk Songs," ...

| | Stratovarius Elements PT. 2 CD (2003)
Baptised In Fire
$10.45 Scandinavian prog-power-metal specialists Stratovarius begin their sequel to 2002's Elements, Pt. 1 with a neo-classical dirge called "Alpha and Omega," which showcases their melodic muscle and top-notch playing. Musically, the group are masters of fantasy-metal excess, but bereft of the Dungeons & Dragons hyperbole employed by similar artists. The series as a whole draws from blueprints laid out by Helloween's Keeper of the Seven Keys series, borrowing liberally from their nursery rhyme choruses, ferocious double-basslines, and operatic vocals -- lead singer Timo Kotipelto channels Helloween crooner Michael Kiske throughout -- without the thematic focus. There are some inspired moments -- the brutal "Awaken the Giant" -- and anthems like "Season's of Faith's Perfection," and the soaring "Liberty," succeed with bombast and Queensr˙che-like melodrama. ...

| | Mick Abrahams Mick's Back CD (1996) (Import) Sweden
Baptised In Fire
$11.95 It's a funny thing about Mick Abrahams -- he and his one-time Jethro Tull bandmate Ian Anderson are both "trapped" in time warps, but of very differing kinds: Anderson in a folky art rock musical loop and Abrahams in a '60s-style electric blues cycle, with the echoes of Chess Records' roster and also Albert King et al. rippling through his work. And at this late date, Abrahams may be the one with slightly more elbow room. The opening track on Mick's Back, Percy ...
