| | Katatonia Night Is The New Day CD (2009)
Conclusion & Revival CD music
$14.38 The latest album from Swedish doom rockers Katatonia, their first studio effort since 2006, is as moody and beautiful as their other latter-day work. The group's career can be marked in two stages based on the condition of singer Jonas Renske's vocal cords -- basically, after the band's first two albums, he developed health problems that prevented him from performing harsh ...
| | Epica Design Your Universe CD (2009)
Conclusion & Revival music CDs
$13.15 Dutch pomp-metal band Epica, fronted by classically trained mezzo-soprano Simone Simons, released their second album for Nuclear Blast only a year after their label debut, the more unique The Classical Conspiracy. That two-disc live set found them performing a mix of classical works and their own songs with backing by a full orchestra and choir. This album offers more of their bombastic goth metal songs, with Simons' vocals floating atop ...
| | IQ Frequency CD (2009)
Conclusion & Revival songs
$14.35 It isn't hard to find listeners who aren't huge fans of progressive rock on the whole but are passionate followers of certain prog bands -- and if you ask them why they enjoy Pink Floyd, Yes, or the Moody Blues so much more than they enjoy other prog bands, they'll tell you that their favorites have mastered something that the others haven't: great hooks. And without a doubt, hooks are a major reason why some of IQ's most devoted followers are people who don't necessarily buy a lot of prog rock CDs. Hooks are certainly a major plus on Frequency, which has an immediacy that a lot ...
| | Tool 10,000 Days CD (2006)
Conclusion & Revival album
$11.75 To its legion of fans, everything the band Tool does is an event, but the elaborate plan behind their sporadic release schedule--roughly five years, on average, between albums--is due primarily to the time and effort the band packs into each successive effort. To title their fourth album 10,000 DAYS, then, isn't as much an exaggeration as it would seem. Tool are ...

| | Butterbeans & Susie Butterbeans & Susie CD (2006)
Conclusion & Revival album
$13.99 Butterbeans & Susie's only LP was recorded at three sessions during the spring of 1960, many years after their heyday as African-American vaudeville's definitive husband-and-wife team. This modern stereophonic recording is actually the best way to appreciate and understand their delightful approach to humor, which is particularly well represented by "Construction Gang" and "A Married Man's a Fool." Even while Butter cuts up nicely during his portion of "Until the Real Thing Comes Along," the unwavering love and affection that these two people shared throughout their lives comes across beautifully. This very enjoyable ...
| | Backyard City Rockers 3 CD (2006)
$7.09 | | Souleye Intergalactic Vibes CD (2006)
Conclusion & Revival CD music
$12.65 While Colorado’s music scene might be in the spotlight right now thanks to breakout acts like The Fray, the state’s still not exactly a hot bed for hip hop. The Procussions, currently based in LA, remain our most high-profile genre export to date. Little does most of our community know, though, that a Steamboat Springs-based MC known as Souleye (birth handle: Mario Treadway) has been cris-crossing the country, even hip hopping the Canadian border to drop live free styles into sets by Bassnectar, The Disco Biscuits, Galactic, The Glitch Mobb, Karl Denson, Michele Bass, Sleepyhead, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Spearhead and String Cheese at events including Burning Man, Coachella, Jam Cruise, Shambhala, Ultra, Wakarusa and 10,000 Lakes. Honestly, the speed at which the aforementioned collaborations have manifested is downright viral. His jet-setting itinerary shows no signs of slowing yet, either. So what is it that makes Souleye’s rhymes so compelling? Well, content is key. Whereas MTV MCs are still pimping the same tired “bitches & hos” flow, Souleye’s wordplay addresses conscious subjects like open-mindedness and yoga. As far as style goes, it sounds like the half-sung melodic flow of Bone Thugs & Harmony has been influential, among others. Energy’s the clincher, though. Souleye oozes enthusiasm out the wazoo. ...
