Drama CD Soundtrack album
$15.18 Virtually every aspect of the Twilight saga was taken to a grander scale with New Moon, the second film in the series of screen adaptations of Stephenie Meyers' books. This reflected not just the success of the first movie, but the wider scope of New Moon's story, which encompassed werewolves and Italian vampire royalty along with girl-falls-in-love-with-vampire, vampire-breaks-girl's-heart drama. The film's score, which is composed and conducted by Alexandre Desplat and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, is certainly bigger, but not always better, than Carter Burwell's music for Twilight. Desplat takes a more traditional approach, favoring soft string passages highlighted by flute, piano and occasional brass for his cues, which are lush and often lengthy: "To Volterra" hovers around nine minutes. Given that the film's heroine, Bella Swan, spends most of her time grieving her breakup with her vampire ex Edward Cullen, it's not surprising that much of the score is mournful, ...

| | Solange Knowles Solo Star CD (2003) Japan
Drama CD Soundtrack CD music
$36.99 Japanese edition contains two bonus recordings: "Naive (with Beyonce Knowles featuring Da Brat)," & "Blinded."
With big sister Beyonce taking a break from Destiny's Child and kickin' it with Jay-Z, younger sib Solange emerged with her debut SOLO STAR following a high-profile turn hosting the very first MTV TRL tour. Despite having impressive name recognition, Beyonce's baby sister shrewdly enlisted the aid of high-profile collaborators including producers Timbaland (a Dawn Robinson-like "Get Together"), the Neptunes (the buoyant love note "Crush"), and the team of Rocwilder and former 4 Non-Blondes singer Linda Perry (a simmering "Wonderland"). Guest vocalists also abound and range from St. Lunatic Murphy Lee on "Thinkin' About You," (recycled from the SCOOBY-DOO soundtrack) to the hard-driving "Dance With You" featuring B2K.
Solange dispels notions of being a bubble-gum prop via two songs: the edgy "I Used To" with its multi-layered harmonies, and the funk-fueled "This Could Be Love," both of which were co-written and co-produced ...
