| | Andy Griffith I Love To Tell The Story: 25 Timeless Hymns. CD (1996)
Holding Nothing Back CD music
$15.35 With a sterling cast of backing musicians, Griffith sings the songs that have been a part of his life since his boyhood, when he would attend church faithfully and give voice to them with as much sincerity as he does here. The earnestness in his voice attests to the fact that these hymns are no passing fancy for Griffith. Listening to him sing these songs of devotion, there can be little doubt that he is a true believer.
Recorded at Tyrell Studios, Ocean Way Studios and Westlake Audio, Los Angeles, California; Omnisound Studios and Woodland Studios, Nashville, Tennessee.

| | Jars Of Clay CD (1995)
Holding Nothing Back music CDs
$10.39 JARS OF CLAY was nominated for a 1996 Grammy Award for Best Rock Gospel Album.
Jars of Clay approach progressive Christian music from a refreshing angle, mixing a simple acoustic folk sound with a hip-hop beat and decidedly un-preachy yet powerfully religious lyrics. Vocalist Dan Haseltine imbues lines like "They say that I can walk on water/If I would follow and believe/ With faith like a child," with palpable sincerity and a charismatic vocal style. Particularly strong are the two tracks produced by Adrian Belew, an eccentric guitarist who's worked with David Bowie, Peter Gabriel and the Talking Heads among others. "Liquid" makes inventive use of otherworldly Gregorian chant samples and an orchestral background, and includes Belew himself on bass and mandolin. JARS OF CLAY is a mature effort by a fiercely devout group of musicians with a commanding yet humble religious message to convey.
Personnel: Dan Haseltine (vocals, programming); Matt Odmark (guitar, programming); Stephen Mason (guitar, ...
| | Kutless It Is Well CD (2009)
Holding Nothing Back songs
$11.79 In the early aughts, Kutless established itself as the Christian alternative to chart-topping post-grunge bands such as Staind, Creed, and Third Eye Blind. As the group's career progressed, its music became increasingly radio-friendly, in large part leaving the heavy riffs behind in favor of a smoother, more melodic ...

| | Stryper Yellow And Black Attack CD (1984)
Holding Nothing Back CD music
$8.49 When church leaders were accusing heavy metal of encouraging Satanism, Stryper set out to prove that metal and hard rock could be used to promote Christianity. The southern California band was viewed with suspicion by both ministers (who refused to believe that Christianity and metal were compatible) and fellow headbangers -- and yet, Stryper managed to sell millions of albums to both Christian and secular audiences. Stryper's first release, The Yellow and Black Attack!, showed the rockers to be along the lines of Def Leppard and Quiet Riot musically, but not lyrically. On such likable cuts as "You Know What to Do," "Co'Mon Rock," and "Loud 'n' Clear," Stryper managed to promote a religious message without being preachy. While the uptempo songs are decent, the ballads ...
| | Stryper Against The Law CD (1990)
Holding Nothing Back music CDs
$8.49 A definite improvement over In God We Trust, the grittier Against the Law is not only a more consistently rockin' album, it's also much more focused and inspired. The CD's standout track is an imaginative cover of Earth, Wind & Fire's "Shining Star," which works surprisingly well in a metal/hard rock setting. But originals like "Rock the People," "Caught In the ...

Holding Nothing Back album
$11.49 Singing Back to You may have been an attempt by the promising piano-based pop band to add its recognizable flair to worship standards. Or it may have been chasing the tail of the worship album fad that artists rode at length in 2005. Regardless of the reason, the album failed to build upon the Swift's trademark effervescence. The band instead relied ...
