Burning for You album for sale by Strawbs was released on the Witchwood Collection label. Though Strawbs started out as eccentric folk-rockers, and subsequently moved on to Mellotron-laden progressive rock epics, the end of the group's initial tether found them leaving both of those styles far behind. The trio of albums that marked the band's last stand (until their eventual reunion) started with NOMADNESS in 1975 and ended with 1977's BURNING FOR YOU. By this time, the transformation was complete; all traces of quirkiness had been expunged in favor of slickly produced, radio-ready, mainstream pop-rock. Great super band!!!!!!
Burning for You songs This is The Strawbs on its 80 s' incarnation. A band that was so good and with two great song writers and singers DAVE LAMBERT and DAVID COUSINS. The production is superb and the songs are good, really good. The best song here is HEARTBREAKER a "should have been a smash hit all over the world" and a "classic" Other great songs that could qualify as "hits" are the opener and title cut Burning For Me, the extraordinary Cut Like A Diamond and the power pop ballads I Feel Your Loving Coming On and Barcarole (For The Death Of Venice). I used to have a radio show at the time this and the "Simple Visions" and "Dealines" albums appeared, and the listeners always asked for songs from those albums and also from "Ghost" (Angel Wine). Today, there are many great rock bands that lack good songwriters. They shoul look for the Strawbs, The Kinks, Dave Davies (Kinks guitar player), John Entwistle (the Who s' bass player) and former Argent guitar player and composer Russ Ballard, for inspiration... ... .... an cover.

HUGE album
My fave Strawbs album by far! This sometimes underrated band plays BIG TIME here. The artwork on this particular Japan version is super!! A MUST-HAVE!
