| | The Souvenirs CD Souvenirs Discography of CDs
Formed in 2004, the five-piece Souvenirs include Marla Gal, Frank Spoerer, Bruce Wong, Fred Urdiales, and Dan Dwyer. The band spent most of 2006 working with producer/engineer Blaise Barton (Bob Dylan, Liz Phair, Katie Todd Band), putting the finishing touches on this inaugural, self-titled CD. Although they can get a little funky and even a little country, the Souvenirs tend to stick to lush harmonics, catchy melodies, and lyrics with a slight sense of humor. The band brings together a wide range of influences to make delicious pop/rock - from Marla's singer/songwriter 80's pop perspective, to Frank's blues, Bruce's 80's and alternative rock with some shredding thrown in for good measure, Freddie's funk and latin-based bass licks, and finally Dan's classic and 50's rock style. | | Norah Jones Fall CD (2009)
The Souvenirs CD music
$15.05 With The Fall, Norah Jones completes the transition away from her smooth cabaret beginnings and toward a mellowly arty, modern singer/songwriter. Jones began this shift on 2007's Not Too Late, an album that gently rejected her tendencies for lulling, tasteful crooning, but The Fall is a stronger, more cohesive work, maintaining an elegantly dreamy state that's ...
| | Tom Petty Live Anthology CDs (2009)
The Souvenirs music CDs
$19.98 It's a commonly held opinion among fans and band alike that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' lone live album, 1986's Pack Up the Plantation, didn't quite capture the group at its peak, so there has been a long-standing need for another live set, which 2009's Live Anthology finally provides. Like its closest cousin, Bruce Springsteen's Live 1975-1985, Live Anthology almost overcompensates for the long wait by offering almost too much music, cherrypicking highlights from 1978 to 2007. In its simplest incarnation, Live Anthology is a super-affordable, four-disc box set running 48 tracks, which is eight cuts longer than Springsteen's ...
| | John Mayer Battle Studies CD (2009)
The Souvenirs songs
$12.95 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern groove album, a record that maintains a smooth seductive vibe so thoroughly it spills into a one-man band cover of "Crossroads." Mayer remains somewhat of a disciple of Slowhand, but he shows an unusual interest in the big AOR stylings of Journeyman, along with Stevie Ray Vaughan's In Step, creating a coolly clean blend of synths and Strats, one that's as much about texture as it is about song.something perfectly ...
| | The Very Best Of Enya CDs (2009) With DVD
The Souvenirs album
$21.00 Comprised of 18 tracks culled from the singer/composer's first three decades, The Very Best of Enya was pieced together by the artist herself, along with longtime collaborators Nicky and Roma Ryan. Luckily, the trio seems enamored by most of the same songs that the general public is, resulting in one of those rare "greatest-hits" collections that goes deep without depriving the listener of the essentials. With tunes like "Orinoco Flow," "Caribbean Blue," and "Book of Days" in the pot and out of the way, it's easier to appreciate ...

The Souvenirs music CDs
$15.19 "If you are ever given an opportunity to see this songwriter and performer...you will certainly be moved, both emotionally and physically"...The Virginia Gazette This is just one of the recent comments written about Ron Fetner. Either through live performances or his nationally released CD's, people everywhere are becoming fans of this performing songwriter. Ron's songs have been labeled a unique blend of New England folk and the soul of the South. His numerous songwriting awards, including the winner of the prestigious Kerrville NewFolk, Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist and Merlefest/Chris Austin Finalist, have helped draw attention to Ron's talent.Born in the farm belt of western New York and raised in the small towns of northern Virginia, Ron's early years were spent playing guitar and saxophone in local area bands. Ron attended Berklee School of Music as an arranging and composition major before heading off on his musical travels. These travels included stints with several Washington, DC based bands, often opening or sharing stages with acts like The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Hall and Oats, The Nighthawks and Dire Straits. In 1983, feeling he had paid his dues as a band member, Ron started to concentrate more on songwriting and soon launched a solo performing songwriter career. Incorporating elements of Folk, Rock, Jazz and Appalachian, Ron soon found his voice in pure American music. In 1996, after years of writing and performing, Ron released "This Box I'm Looking Through" on Cimirron/Rainbird Records. The title track got immediate attention and soon found the radio airways throughout the country. As Autograph ...

The Souvenirs songs
$15.19 The album is called 'words and music.'That said, the sign on the front cover says it all: 'Variety'. That's what I love in music, and that's what this album tries to deliver. Some up-tempo; some slow. Some silly; some thought-provoking. Some densely produced; some not. Some groovers, rockers, reggae, ballads, and blues. Remember in the old days when you got a new record and how exciting it was that the songs didn't all sound alike? I think some of that vibe is captured here. At least, I hope so. (Pretty funny, too, that we then found that decrepit old building (recently torn down for redevelopment) -with ...
