Kiss Presents Booty House: Funky House and Sexy R&B Flavours buy CD music On the fourth album by postmodern popsters Quasi, the duo of Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss and keyboardist/maestro Sam Coomes moves further away from its indie-rock roots towards a realization of a pure pop aesthetic (albeit a slightly twisted one). Thoug Coomes's keyboards are often distorted and his singing often colored by alt-rock urgency, the songs' harmonic and melodic development seem rooted in nothing so much as late-period Beatles. For her part, Weiss keeps Coomes's lofty ambitions grounded in rock-solid rhythm, dressed up by the occasional fillip. Despite a spell as Elliott Smith's touring band, Quasi is more likely to be embraced by the underground than the pop mainstream, which means that Coomes's potential status as the indie-rock Todd Rundgren will be limited to the cognoscenti who are hip enough to purchase THE SWORD OF GOD. Includes liner notes by Sam Coomes. Liner Note Author: Sam Coomes. Photographer: John Clark . Quasi: Sam Coomes (vocals, various instruments); Janet Weiss (drums). Kiss Presents Booty House: Funky House and Sexy R&B Flavours album for sale Although Animal Magnetism contains such classic songs as "The Zoo" and "Make It Real," the album is somewhat disappointing when compared to its predecessor, Lovedrive. The well-written songs on this album end up saving it from total disaster, and it's obvious the band wasn't sure what to exactly put on this record -- many of the songs sound like the work of some other rock group and simply don't blend together as they should. Singer Klaus Meine, known for his excellent vocal performances, sounds bored and just plain overshadowed. Although far from bad, Animal Magnetism isn't a highlight of the Scorpions' career. ~ Barry Weber Recorded at Dierks Studios, Cologne, Germany and Manta Sound Studios, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Personnel: Rudolf Schenker (vocals, guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar); Charles Elliot (vocals, drums); Klaus Meine (vocals); Matthias Jabs (guitar); Adele Arman, Victoria Richard, Adele Armin (violin); Paul Armin (viola); Richard Armin (cello); Melvin Berman (oboe); Brad Warnaar (French horn, horns); George Stimpson (French horn); George Simpson (horns); Francis Buchholz (bass guitar); Jurgen Rosenthal, Rudy Lenners, Herman Rarebell (drums). Kiss Presents Booty House: Funky House and Sexy R&B Flavours CD music "I Am So Glad I Took My Time," released on Fee Records, was their debut single, but the Detroit quartet struck gold with their second release (the Floaters were actually a quintet; Ralph Mitchell missed the "Float On" session and the album's photo shoot for some unexplained reason, though he was present for the other tracks). "Float On" was 11 minutes and 46 seconds of pure magic; the tune echoed the group's name, for it just floated on a bed of rhythm and harmony as the guys introduced themselves and gave their astrological signs. The other Floaters are Paul Mitchell, Jonathan Murray, Charles Clark, and Ralph Cunningham. Disk jockeys loved "Float On" -- they could pair it with Isaac Hayes' "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," make a munchie run, and be back before Ike sings "she'll be rising." "Float On" aced Billboard's R&B chart and Great Britain's pop chart. Nothing else as magical appears on this LP. They followed with "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me," which surprisingly charted despite Charles Clark's whiny, uninteresting falsetto lead. ~ Andrew Hamilton Unknown Contributor Role: The Floaters.

Kiss Presents Booty House: Funky House and Sexy R&B Flavours songs section. While Nights was a mighty album, Pictures is fuller and more adventurous, but with the two brought together in one set, there's no need to choose between them. ~ Jo-Ann Greene 2008 two CD Set. Davey Pattison is a singer with a pretty impressive CV. Lead singer over the years with Gama, Ronnie Montrose, Michael Schenker and Robin Trower, and that's before his session work! Mississippi Nights, the first of his solo albums, was recorded in 1999 and the follow up Pictured was recorded in 2003. Davey called on his numerous friends and contacts to play on these fine albums which have never before been released outside of USA. 23 tracks. Angel Air. Davey Pattison's illustrious career began in the British pubs, where he toiled for years, before finally being scooped into stardom in 1979 fronting Ronnie Montrose's Gamma. That group split in the mid-'80s, at which point Robin Trower picked up the phone, and enlisted the singer. Over the years since, Pattison has kept busy with studio work, reunited with both Gamma and Trower, and formed the Schenker Pattison Summit with guitarist Michael Schenker. It's no wonder then that the veteran vocalist only got around to recording his debut solo album, Mississippi Nights, in 1999. It's a strong set that focuses on Pattison's bluesier side, although only the title track and "Houston Street Blues" are true blues numbers, while "Too Hot to Sleep" is blues based, but with a lush, cross-over arrangement. Those tracks are counter-pointed by a trio of R&B numbers -- the steaming "Have a Look at Yourself," the horn drenched and rock laced "I Got the Hots for You," and the urban styled, funkified "Slow Down." Rounding out the set are a pair of ballads and the bright and breezy slice of pop "Daydreaming." Pattison has support from guitarists Steve Canali and John Rewind, keyboardists Bob McBain and Dale Ockerman, bassist Sam Plarr, and drummer D.G. Tull, with other guest musicians abounding. This reissue pairs the fabulous Nights with Pattison's 2003 follow-up, Pictures. With many of the songs co-written by the musicians, this sophomore set is far more diverse than its predecessor, ranging from rockers to smoky jazz, R&B in a variety of shades, and even more tasty blues. Canali, Rewind, and drummer Tull all return, with Kay Bjord taking the stool of the pianomen, and Van Morrison bassist David Hayes found among the excellent rhythm Personnel: Davey Pattison (vocals); Davey Patterson (acoustic guitar); Bob McBain (keyboards); Sam Plarr (bass guitar); Steve Canali, Dale Ockerman, John Rewind.

Kiss Presents Booty House: Funky House and Sexy R&B Flavours songs This Dom & Roland release contains 21 tracks including "Rage Roll," "The Voyage," and "Soundwall." Although rumors abounded of Dom Angus' debut LP, Industry, being a full-length concept piece working science-fiction interludes and a number of downbeat tracks into his usual drum'n'bass tech trickery, Angus, in fact, delivered 12 tracks that concentrated heavily on the dancefloor. This second album outing takes an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" line, following in the footsteps of his debut with thunderous 2-step and menacing atmospheres very much the order of the day, leaving the Amen break behind in favor of expanding upon the apocalyptic synth groans, which holler out over the ever-growling low end with which he made his reputation. The mixed format makes for a relentless listen, with hard-to-find tracks mixed in with the new material and the Optical and Keaton collaborations sure to raise an eyebrow of even the hardened fan. The highlight takes the form of the piano-flecked mix of Shanie's "Life," a welcome respite amongst the crash-bang chaos which is certain to please those of a Matrix mentality. ~ Kingsley Marshall Japanese Version Featuring A Limited LP Style Slipcase Cover. 24Bit Digitally Remastered.

Kiss Presents Booty House: Funky House and Sexy R&B Flavours album for sale Placing herself firmly in the ranks of sexualized pop singers, Meisa Kuroki's first album, Hellcat, is a smorgasbord of ultra-slick productions and extremely slinky vocals. The relatively short set opens with "Hear the Alarm?" a synth-driven dance track that at its best points hearkens to some of the pieces on Ayumi Hamasaki's remix albums. Kuroki moves into a Namie Amuro mode with "Like This," heavy on Auto-Tune tweaks and a syncopated beat. "Bad Girl" kicks up the kittenish vibe a bit more with a seemingly Kumi Koda-inspired beat and delivery. After a fairly standard track, there's an intriguing, stuttering beat presented in "No, No, No" that would have been a throwaway track elsewhere but just seems to scratch beneath the surface of what Kuroki has presented previously. There's a little more technique in her vocals here, though the material itself is relatively normal. The extremely straightforward "Sex" holds up the basic beat and lyrical content of the rest of the album, simply unveiling the core message through some oversexed rapping, as though it were unclear. Though the slower "Lost" falls somewhat flat, the album ends on a thick groove with "This Is Crazy," which also completes the disc in just the right form after the preceding ...
