He wrote his first song on his grandmothers 41 key Casio keyboard with 7 note polyphony. It wasn't until the age of 13 when his mother signed him up for his first piano lesson under the tutelage of Nevilla Ottley in 1998 at the Ottley Music School in Hyattsville Maryland. His first lesson was on June 8th 1998. From that day forward he took off with his piano studies.

After 2 years of lessons, he had his first solo debut in a concert playing the 'Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor' with full orchestra at the NIH Masur Auditorium.

Living today in Italy, he has held a professorship at Rome School of Music since 1996, and since 1992 has served as University Piano Player at the University of Milan. International recognition was established in 1986 when he won the Carpina First Piano Festival, and has grown through his recording career with over ten recordings. Peter Weiss performs frequently in major international halls and concert festivals.
