After the sudden death of her fianc, Gray Wheeler (Jennifer Garner) finds comfort in the company of his friends: lighthearted and comic Sam (Kevin Smith), hyper-responsible Dennis (Sam Jaeger), and, oddly enough, his old childhood buddy Fritz (Timothy Olyphant), an irresponsible playboy whom she'd previously pegged as one of the least reliable people in the world. As secrets about her supposedly perfect fianc emerge, Gray comes to see new sides of the man she thought she knew, and at the same time, finds herself drawn to the last man she ever expected to fall for. Screenwriter Susannah Grant makes her directorial debut in this tale of love, loss, and finding new love. Gray Wheeler's (Jennifer Garner) wedding day is not going as planned. Instead of walking down the aisle in her wedding gown, she is at the funeral of her fiancé, Grady, following his accidental death on a trip meant to be his bachelor party. To make ends meet, Gray puts her things in storage and moves in with Grady's roommates, levelheaded and attentive Dennis (Sam Jaeger) and quirky yet lovable Sam (Kevin Smith). With childhood friend Fritz (Timothy Olyphant) in from L.A. and crashing on the couch, it's a full house. Inhabiting Grady's old room, Gray soon learns that her fiancé had been keeping some big secrets from her and may not have been the man she thought he was. Perhaps more importantly, she discovers some surprising things about herself, and her ability to heal and love again.
Each of the characters in this film has to find a way to survive the devastating loss of a man who held them all together. Garner effectively conveys Gray's heartbreak and confusion without going over the top. As Fritz, Olyphant pulls off the role of the mystery man who is always charming but often misunderstood. Jaeger is earnest and heartfelt as Grady's roommate and business partner. But Smith is the scene-stealer here, with deadpan delivery and great timing as a Celestial Seasonings employee spouting philosophical quotes from the herbal tea company's packaging. Juliette Lewis appears as a sexy, slightly flaky, Californian massage therapist who is also a skeleton in Grady's closet. Catch And Release Movie Review  Friends Forever
I adored this movie. Although it was about some deceit, it still came out on the light side when Gray fell in love with Fritz. At that point she had every right, since Grady had someone else on the side. Gray helped Maureen even though it threw cold water on her love with Grady...soft heart. After you waded through that, it felt as if they were all friends and had a common tie. You could feel the bond between them all. Loved the Camera work and direction. Feel good movie...ended great...couldn't have enjoyed it more. Beautiful people...loved you guys.

 Always more to know about a person....
thought this movie was very good. Some of it drug on, but overall it had a good storyline. I did get pissed at a few parts. This movie is def. a chick flick! It really makes you wonder how well you really know people. It also makes you realize even thou you have known a person for a long time, there is always more to know. I also enjoyed the music, so I am guessing it has a good soundtrack to go along with it!

this movie was sweet. glad i went alone, as i started crying from pretty much the beginning. makes you beleive, if only for a moment alone in a theater, that good things can happen.
