| | Shakshuka It's All Relative CD Shakshuka Discography of CDs
Shakshuka n. 1:eggs cooked in tomato sauce with onion; the most popular egg dish in Israel; from the onomatopoetic Hebrew and North African words, meaning "all mixed up" 2.an eclectic band that performs contemporary arrangements of Israeli and Sephardic music spiced with jazz. Oh, how I love Shakshuka! The spicy blend of middle eastern rhythnms, sizzling guitars and sumptuous singing is hot and sweet and truly satisfying. The deep bonds of freindship and family that bind this band together come through the music in a powerfully affirming way. The language of their songs, both ancient and modern, speaks of the richness and mystery of who we are relative to ourselves, to each other, and to our people. The graceful gift of their music brings light to the darkness and illuminates our common spirit. So listen- and enjoy! Stuart Rosenberg, ProducerWith Shakshuka it is a family affair, as the group’s members are primarily comprised of two generations from two families. Shakshuka was started by Chuck and Rachel Rosenberg and Steve Yastrow, close family friends and musicians who share a love for Jewish music and grew up influenced by the contemporary folk, pop, Latin and jazz music. Here is what people are saying:"One of the nice things about Shakshuka's sound is the newness...they have a rich, textured sound...The guitars come through with perfect clarity...which is wonderful, as Yastrow's playing, although less given to wild flourishes than David Broza's, approaches the Israeli star's speed and inventiveness and is more given to bluesy, bent notes. Sephardic jazz...is not something encountered every day, and it's certainly not something to miss." JUF News Arts and Entertainment"Shakshuka really captures the spirit and soul of contemporary Jewish music..."Daily Herald Shakshuka It's All Relative Songs | 1. | Yibaneh |

It's All Relative songs
$13.15 Richard Soaring Owl and Keith Little Grizz known as Two Hearts are four time recipients of the “Silver Arrow Awards”, (for 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. The awards are presented by Spirit Wind Records and Raven Hawk Productions, for Outstanding Contributions to Native American Music.Richard was adopted by a Mohawk elder, and shortly afterwards given the name, Soaring Owl.Keith Little Grizz's Native American heritage comes from his grandfather who was Abenaki. He was named Little Grizz as a boy when his grandfather observed Keith’s interactions with his siblings. It was Keith’s astounding curiosity and determination while at play that gave birth to his name.Their CD titled “Two Hearts” was released in April 2005. Their musical trade mark evolved around performing duets with the Native American Flute. Although each has their own distinctive style, when playing duets, they are taking their two independent hearts and combining them together to play as one. Both Richard and Keith forged their unique musical bond while members of a Pow Wow drum called “First Light Drum”, which performed in the New England area. During the midday intermission, Keith would often be asked to play his flute. It was Keith that recognized the haunting and free flowing style Richard expressed while playing his native flute. Richard’s flute would only come out at night; he would sit quietly at his campfire, and as he began to wind down from the days drumming and singing he would weave his musical tapestries. The haunting and mesmerizing sounds could be heard throughout the Powwow grounds carried by the evening breezes. With the encouragement and persistence from Keith and other community members, they began to collaborate in playing the flute during the afternoon Powwow intermissions. Their performances reached a higher level when they decided to play their first duet. Shortly afterwards the audience would sit mesmerized, listening to their compositions with anticipation in hearing a duet. It was the overwhelming response by the audiences wanting to take their music home that influenced Soaring Owl and Little Grizz to produce their first CD.Their first CD features solos from Richard and Keith, as well as several duet tracks. Some of the musical tracks include sounds of nature during its calm and its fury, along with the winged and four legged that live and share their space with us. John Ash, owner of Magickal Spirit wrote; “The power of the music gifted us through Two Hearts is truly amazing! The feel and vibration of it...The stories it tells... I have been graced in friendship with Richard and Keith, which gives me an insight to their music. To listen to it on CD is powerful. To hear it live is phenomenal. To know the souls of the two men through whom Spirit channels these important life songs is a blessing! In ...

It's All Relative CD music
$20.49 Broken Walls was conceived in 1995 by Jonathan Maracle (a Mohawk from Tyendinaga Territory in Ontario, Canada) while attending a conference called the Sacred Assembly in Ottawa/Hull. As different First Nations speakers spoke of the walls that have been built between the visitors to this land and the First Nations people, he began to see the need for these walls to be broken and wrote the song Broken Walls on the spot and performed it on the drum at this Gathering. Broken Walls now consists of Bill Pagaran (Tlingit) from Palmer, Alaska on the drums. Kris Delorenzi (Italian) from Thunder Bay, Ontario on bass and backup vocals, and Jonathan Maracle (Mohawk), lead vocalist and guitarist. Broken Walls bases many of their songs on the ancient sounds of the First Nations People of North America and perform often around their large Pow Wow drum, singing songs of and to the Creator. The band has a team of First Nations Dancers that often accompany them in full regalia when they perform.Broken Walls has toured worldwide over the past 7 years ...
