Fear Between Us All album
$10.09 After the initial shock fades, the existence of CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART seems perhaps inevitable. After all, the thing Bob Dylan loves most of all are songs that are handed down from generation to generation, songs that are part of the American fabric, songs so common they never seem to have been written. These are the songs Dylan chooses to sing on CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART, a cheerfully old-fashioned holiday album from its Norman Rockwell-esque cover to its joyous backing vocals. Apart from the breakneck "Must Be Santa," which barrelhouses like a barroom, Dylan doesn't really reinterpret these songs as much as simply play them with his crackerjack road band, dropping in a little flair -- restoring "we'll have to muddle through somehow" to "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," singing the opening of "O Come All Ye Faithful" ...
| | Trans-Siberian Orchestra Night Castle CDs (2009)
Fear Between Us All CD music
$11.35 NIGHT CASTLE appears just in time for the big 2009 holiday season but don't be fooled: this isn't a Christmas album, even if it's sonically indistinguishable from Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other seasonal releases, and the fact that it's been dubbed "Capra-esque" certainly brings it within the realm of the season. NIGHT CASTLE brims with all the drama, pomp, and circumstance of Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other records but channeling these traits through a newly created narrative does have the effect of hearing it in a somewhat new light, shifting the focus entirely to the band's attack, not melody. Still, there's not that much new here -- and the coda of seasonal covers, including the first sober version of "Nutrocker" ever cut, doesn't do much to break that spell. But for those already enchanted by the Orchestra, ...

| | Shakira She Wolf CD (2009)
Fear Between Us All songs
$11.18 Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such concentration behooves Shakira, freeing her to release her inner She Wolf, a wild wacko who's as coo coo as she is carnal. And for as sexy as Shakira is -- crucially, her music is sexy too -- what really gives She Wolf its bite is her inspired nuttiness, how she laments that Matt Damon's not meant for her, and wishes her ex-lover and his new girl a horrible vacation where the room smells and the toilet doesn't flush. "Darling, it is no joke, this is lycanthropy," she sings on the title track with no small trace of humor, and this blend of cheerful weirdness and sick beats -- often supplied by the Neptunes, delivering tough, sensual rhythms in a way they haven't in a long time, but also John Hill and Wyclef Jean -- is giddily addicting, a celebration of all the strange sensuality that comes out at night. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| | Belin All The Way In CDs (2009) With DVD
Fear Between Us All album
$13.75 At times, it was hard to figure out whether Berlin were an average synth pop band trying to carve out their own niche or just a mediocre rock band jumping on the new wave bandwagon. Sure, they had some good singles and radio hits, but as an album band, they left a lot to be desired. Terri Nunn was beautiful and sexy, but it seemed like Berlin wanted to be more than just a commercial band with a hot vocalist: they seemed to be striving for greatness but settled for "that'll do." Unfortunately, they never had a chance to really prove themselves, breaking up after their commercially disappointing Count Three & Pray album, released in 1986. Nunn has kept the Berlin name alive over the years, touring with a different group of musicians and playing all the hits while releasing the occasional studio or live album. With a recorded output that seems to dwindle in quality with every release, one might hope that All the Way In would deviate from the standard "live hits" collection and offer up something really special. Sadly, that's not entirely the case. All the Way In was recorded live at The House of Blues ...

Fear Between Us All album
$12.39 Blaine Long (born November 12, 1975 in Parkersburg, West Virginia) grew up listening to the sounds of the Beatles, The Police, Johnny Cash, Arlo Guthrie and Rod Stuart. He began singing and playing guitar in high school with a few garage bands but became serious about songwriting in 1993. Jones Fracture, his Tempe-based band (rock-pop-blues), was formed in 1994 and played regionally for 8 years. The band broke up in 2002 after having released Oxygen (1999) and All the Options (2001). Growing tired of screaming from the stage, he left rock and roll sounds and returned to a more personal, singer/songwriter style releasing two albums: South of Jarvis (2003) and Slip 250 (2005), Hubcapdiamondstarhalo (2007) and Ten Miles Wide (2008). He has played bars, coffee houses and private parties in Tempe, AZ, Boulder, CO, San Diego, Redlands and Riverside, CA. Blaine is at his best when playing multiple-set shows and can hold a crowdâs interest for hours. His music is often compared to that of Tom Petty, ...
| | Told Inter Vivos CD (2006)
Fear Between Us All CD music
$9.35 The Told Co-founders J.R.Lee, guitarist/vocals/songwriter and Daniel Bruehl guitarist/songwriter met at a concert in Danielâs hometown of Wallerfangen, Germany. "During the opening group we met thru mutual friends and later the members of my old band decided to invite J.R. to jam with us⌠it took no time at all before J.R. was singing. We were pretty much blown away, so with no hesitation we asked him to join the band with us." Since that day, the musical relationship has remained dependably loyal. "We have the same exact vision regarding what we love about music," J.R. recalls. âWe wanted to give the band a unique soundâ. âItâs like taking a mixture of New Metal, Seattle âGrungeâ andToolâs groove. We think it is pretty cool.ââThe Toldâ first took shape in Saarlouis, Germany at the beginning of '06. Arising after months of intense song writing came the strong, rich, melodic, and driving Alternative Rock-style that is "The Toldâ today. Influenced by a wide-ranging collection of artists such as Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Tool, Pearl Jam, Creed, Dream Theater, The Doors, Sabbath and many others, the band started by releasing an EP originally planned to be a Demo of its material called Inter Vivos.Through self marketing, promotion and well planned concerts helped The Told to sell over 500 copies of the release. Even without the benefit of support companies, The Told began toestablish a reputation. "A lot of it developed by being elusive," Bruehl remembers. "The second song we ever wrote was this 4-minute, unbelievable song called âStop Cryingâ. And for some reason, the local people took to the song with strong acceptance. We gained this popularity around town, even though no one knew who we were, that we even played in a band or even where to find us". The Told is no longer a secret.Storming onto the scene in late â06 with their single, Stop Crying. In its first month, the song was the number 1 most-added track in three formats--Modern Rock, Active Rock and Rock and can now be heard on over 100 radio stations worldwide. The songs theme of Political Injustice hits home with : Why look at them again disgusted / All that they hold in this life, taken for granted / Don't want this anymore / Can we really be saved from self destruction / Stories to be told, the lying, power and greed, so we all suffer / Can anyone stop the crying inside of me? Intensified by the bands mix of hard-charging rock, sharp hooks and soaring vocals makes THE TOLD a must see.Today The Told stands knocking before the door of truth and the brink of being recognized by the music industry as a band to be taken to the top. 1 ½ years since their EP release, over 100+ concerts and an earned spot at the BoDog Battle European Finals has found the band demanding and receiving attention from all over the the industry. ...
