Osmosis songs
$15.19 ROMAN(US) The Secret Lives of Trees The debut release, The Secret Lives of Trees, from Roman(us) is an innovative, eclectic and impressively cohesive collection of tracks that leaves listeners feeling deeply satisfied ear to ear, head to toe. This well-balanced team of two has generated 13 mood-inducing tracks; each one distinct and engaging –some pulsing with purpose and very bold and animate; some are more dark and earthy; and some are fluid even vaporous in feel. All have a sound so rich and emotive that it becomes an almost visual experience. This is not a surprising quality coming from two film-loving artists! In fact one of the tracks is included in an artistically motivated documentary, Landscapes in a Truck –a film by Andres Duque. Taking advantage of technology and timing, J and F Roman finally joined forces as ROMAN(US) to bring The Secret Lives of Trees to life. Partnering Across the AtlanticThis project, and some key advances in technology, provided an opportunity to explore a new and engaging process to create this album remotely. With F in Barcelona, Spain and J here in the US – ‘passing’ tracks back and forth created a unique dynamic which pushed their spontaneity and creativity to new heights. Other than not physically not being in the same room while working, and the time change, the challenges were surprisingly few, and the excitement stayed high as each wondered what the other would do to each piece in progress! Staying in constant communication was not only necessary for this creative process to work, but was also fun, inspiring, and very satisfying for two cousins who balance each other so well musically, professionally and personally. With J’s structured and intimate knowledge of arranging pieces and harmonic and theory concepts -and F’s natural talents for melodic mastery –this team of two is a perfect match! This is just the beginning of the electronic excellence to be heard from ROMAN(US).Growing up and making music.J and F grew up together in Caracas, Venezuela actively playing together in typical high-school style garage bands for several fun-filled years. With J on drums and F on vocals, and others joining in youthful explorations ...
| | Robert Lee Road Trip CD (2007)
Osmosis album
$11.49 Robert Lee has been riding since he was 16. That makes, let's see...never mind how many years. He even got a ticket while riding in the snow. Through Southern Rock, Rock Boogie, Stoner Country Comedy, Latin Rock, Sappy Ballads, Tear-Jerker Ballads, Solid Rock, to awesome Epic Rock with Reggae rhythms, Robert Lee has a story to tell about his trip through life.Andy Dulak, owner of Fleshtone Studios, wrote this about Robert Lee’s rock tracks on this CD:“Robert is difficult to categorize because he’s so diverse (which is good). Ride to Live sounds like Steppenwolf meets ZZ Top (Born to be Wild meets Tush). Some of Robert’s stuff sounds s bit like Jimmy Buffet, i.e. Jessica and Thank You. Little Children is a cross between a Bob Seger and Eric Clapton ballad. Boy’s in the Band sounds like it could be off a Humble Pie album (that’s the band Peter Frampton was in during the early 70’s; they didn’t sound a lot like Peter’s solo stuff). Sad Eyes reminds me of a Uriah Heep tune. Sandpiper is a cross between Sting and Santana.”One of the country tracks, Hay Fever (Hey Fever) is an Honor Award Winner in the Great American Song Contest and described as "Witty! Original! Great Chorus! Strong, funny verses! Delightful piece!" by the Judges in the Song Evaluation Summary. This is why Robert Lee is known as a Classic. He is the classic American musician. Raised in the Appalachian Mountains in South Central PA, the son of a factory mechanic with the ancestry of the classical extremist Wilhelm Richard Wagner running through his veins and beating in his brain, he channeled his 50’s childhood into beating drums. With his dreams of being a high school music teacher smothered by his environment, he turned his heart and brain from the field of the marching band for which he played drums, to the heart and soul of the popular music of the 60’s. After nearly blowing himself away with the hippy subculture, Robert Lee became the ultimate dad, raising his two daughters completely on his own, keeping a day job and keeping the music very much alive on weekends. Robert Lee has been a singer since he could form words and started playing drums at age two. While in high school he played drums in the marching band and the stage band, as well as the concert band. As he was not permitted any musical instruments at his parents’ house, he took every opportunity he could to cut classes and go to the music room at school to practice. Bob now plays Tama and Ludwig drums; Hamer, Fender, Ovation and Ibanez guitars; and Yamaha Keyboards. The lack of support from his family drove him to move out on his own and by the time he was seventeen he realized it was very difficult to accompany his vocals with a set of drums. Robert picked up an old Fender acoustic guitar and began learning chords, playing and singing for his friends in the back ...
