Vagabonds of the Western World album for sale Product Description
Vagabonds of the Western World album for sale by Thin Lizzy was released Nov 16, 2010 on the Mercury label. VAGABONDS OF THE WESTERN WORLD is not only the last record that Thin Lizzy recorded as a trio, but an album that signaled the band's adoption of a more hard-rock sound and an abandonment of its prior harder-edged prog-rock approach. VAGABONDS also contained Thin Lizzy's breakthrough hit, a modern update of the traditional folk song "Whisky in the Jar." Once again turning to his Irish heritage, Phil Lynott reaches into Celtic mythology to create a wayfaring fictional character who traverses through a mystical world, a character who appears in the Hendrixian title track, and in the moody "Hero and the Madman." On the later, Lynott's spoken-word intro sounds not unlike something Jim Morrison might have written. Vagabonds of the Western World CD music is a 2-disc set with 36 songs. ...See Full Description

| True Hard Rock; The truth is that i'm hooked on it, although i'm only 20 years old,and i have not experienced rock music deeply... i love their music and i believe that it is acknowledged as a definitive hard rock album;. By vazouras86 (Athens,Attica,Greece) This review is for a different format. |
| A Fond Farewell to Mr Bell This proved to be a make-or-break album for Lizzy back then. Decca were very unhappy with their sales, which sucks when you consider that the label never helped Lizzy or did any promotion. By S J (Woking) This review is for a different format. |

Jailbreak CDs (1976)
Vagabonds of the Western World album for sale Thin Lizzy were not true heavy metal perpetrators; more accurately, out-and-out rockers with a feeling for pop. The late Phil Lynott has a growing core of younger fans, as word is passed down that even though he had his demons he was an outstanding performer. This is their best studio album and it contains two classics; "The Boys Are Back In Town" and the title track. Both spit and crackle, bass and lead guitar burst out of the speaker at loud volume, and throughout, the gentle, laconic voice of Lynott delivers his poetry. Don't allow his death to see Thin Lizzy fade from the memory.

Vagabonds of the Western World CD music Digitally remastered deluxe two disc (CD + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) edition includes a bonus DVD that contains all the recorded videos from the Live and Dangerous concert plus various other Thin Lizzy performances. Live And Dangerous was released in 1978 and is arguably one of the best live albums of all time It was recorded in London and Toronto in 1977, during the tours accompanying the albums Johnny The Fox and Bad Reputation. The package is rounded off with sleeve notes by Metal Hammer editor Alex Milas and has a booklet packed with rare photos and memorabilia.
Die-hard Thin Lizzy fans have been known to exchange blows arguing whether JAILBREAK or LIVE & DANGEROUS truly represents the band's supreme achievement. For devotees of the band's stage prowess it's a no-brainer: LIVE & DANGEROUS was, is, and always will be king of the mountain. Recorded at the height of the band's creative powers as well as its commercial peak, the album offers energized performances of the band's best-known material, reeled out in confident swagger. Even the more obscure material ("The Rocker") and surprising cover songs (Bob Seger's "Rosalie") stand with sturdy pride next the band's more celebrated material (the galloping "Cowboy Song," the summer anthem "The Boys Are Back in Town," and the tension filled "Jailbreak." The '70s may have been a decade too often filled with bloated and pompous arena rock, but LIVE & DANGEROUS is a reminder that there was ambitious and arresting rock & roll to be found as well.
Thin Lizzy: Phil Lynott (vocals, bass); Brian Robertson, Scott Gorham (guitar); Brian Downey (drums); John Earle.

Vagabonds of the Western World buy CD music This includes an 8 page color booklet and also the band's 1st EP as bonus tracks.
On its self-titled debut album, Thin Lizzy was still a few records away from becoming the dual-guitar driven hard-rock juggernaut that it became in the mid-'70s. Instead, this 1971 release found Phil Lynott, Eric Bell, and Brian Downey crafting a conceptual piece that melded the lyricism of Bruce Springsteen with a progressive musical base that at times evoked harder-edged Yes.
Predominantly penned by frontman/bassist Lynott, THIN LIZZY contains material inspired by experiences that the trio had growing up in working-class Dublin. The sprawling "Diddy Levine" is a song about a mother forced to raise a child alone after its father abandons the family (reflecting Lynott's mixed-parentage background) while the eclectic "Clifton Grange Hotel" is the name of an establishment managed by Lynott's mother. Elsewhere, songs such as the staccato "Look What the Wind Blew In" and the gorgeous "Honesty is no Excuse" portray Lynott as both a wild-eyed lady's man and sentimental romantic, respectively. "Remembering Part I" is an epic stroll down memory lane that closes out the original running order. The four-track bonus EP added on to the CD reissue is also a nostalgic collection and includes the sweeping "Remembering Part 2 [New Day]" and the delicate ballad "Dublin."
Remastered & expanded reissue of band's 1971 debut album, with 9 bonus tracks that were not on the original release. Bonus tracks include 4 song 'New Day' EP, "The Famer" and 4 song that are listed as '1977 overdubbed & remixed'. 19 total tracks

Shades of a Blue Orphanage CD (1972) Top Seller
Vagabonds of the Western World songs A fascinating, all-over-the-map album by a band that hadn't yet found its own voice (although in retrospect hints of the band's ultimate direction can be heard here). Things get off to a roaring start with "The Rise and Dear Demise of the Funky Nomadic Tribes," which segues from Yes-derived staccato unison riffing into a funk-guitar workout influenced by Jimi Hendrix and James Brown. From there it's on to "Buffalo Gal," a melancholy folk-ish plaint that anticipates the working class Irish poetry Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott would develop to great effect later in the '70s; other stylistic detours include stabs at faux rockabilly ("I Don't Want to Forget How to Jive"), Mellotron-drenched confessional ballads (the title tune), and even a sort of visionary art-punk ("Call the Police). Pretty amazing, but the best was yet to come.
Remastered & expanded reissue of band's 1972 album, with 9 bonus tracks, that includes 4 tracks from the John Peel Session, and other rare tracks . Other bonus songs include: Whiskey in the Jar (Full Length ver), Buffalo Gal (1977 overdubbed & remixed version-live), Sarah (1977 overdubbed & remixed version-live), Brought Down 1977 overdubbed & remixed version-live), and Black Boys on the Corner. 18 total tracks

Bad Reputation CD (1977) Top Seller
Vagabonds of the Western World album for sale Irish rock outfit Thin Lizzy gained worldwide status with its summer anthem, "The Boys Are Back in Town," a Springsteen pastiche of summer nights, male bonding, and the occasional fist fight or two. Although the band never released another single that equaled its impact, Thin Lizzy was enjoying both a commercial as well as creative peak during the mid- to late '70s. BAD REPUTATION is arguably the band's last "great" album. The radio-ready single, "Dancing in the Moonlight" is nearly as winning as the aforementioned "Boys" and the pumping title track is a classic Thin Lizzy mixture of twin guitars, bravado, and a dash of menace. Although singer Phil Lynott had a habit of crossing over into overblown machismo, more often than not the soulful tear in his voice along with the band's signature twin melodic guitar lines elevated the material beyond mere lunkhead chest pounding.
2011 expanded single disc has been remastered and now comes with 4 previously unreleased bonus tracks taken from a session recorded for the BBC. 15 tracks

Johnny the Fox CDs (1976) Top Seller
Vagabonds of the Western World CD music As a concept album, JOHNNY THE FOX has too murky a theme to be considered a true success. As a rock album, it stands with the best of Thin Lizzy's work. Released during the band's peak years (the mid- to late '70s), the album is highlighted by the twin guitar attack of Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson and Lynott's own songwriting. Although his romantic artistic ambitions often outreached his hard rock grasp, the songs here (taken one by one) reveal a more focused craftsman.
The overall tone of the album is looser--funkier even--than on any previous Thin Lizzy effort. Of course, the only successful single was the predictable pounding of "Don't Believe a Word," but there are richer and unexpected highlights scattered throughout. The gentle strains of "Borderline" reveal a melodic grace not usually associated with the band. The easy roll of "Old Flame" likewise unearths heart-on-your-sleeve romanticism; and this from a guy who's better known for casual dismissals such as "if that chick don't want to know, forget her," from the band's signature song, "The Boys are Back in Town."
