(1 Customer Review)
The uncompromising Vancouver punk rock band D.O.A. has been raising both consciousness and funds for a variety of righteous causes since its formation in 1978. Featuring both A- and B-sides, this compilation of the band's singles output over its three-decade existence includes its first E.P., "Disco Sucks," the 1983 release "Right to Be Wild," released to aid the defense of the Canadian political bombers the Squamish Five, and "Marijuana Motherfucker," an adaptation of David Peel's early-'70s song "Have a Marijuana." Though the last release on this collection is 1998's "Nervous Breakdown," the band was still releasing activist music well into the 21st century.

Punk Rock Singles 1978-99
$9.29 Emerging from Liverpool, England in 1980, Echo and the Bunnymen were hailed as the vanguard of a new psychedelic-rock movement. While vocalist Ian McCulloch's cryptic lyrics and Will Sergeant's colorful guitar arrangements do evoke the dark, brooding intensity of '60s groups like the Doors, Echo and the Bunnymen owed more to English post-punk than '60s rock. Featuring songs that range from the supercharged three-chord garage rock of "Do It Clean" and the crashing album opener, "Going Up," to the hazy neo-psychedelia of "Villiers ...

$12.39 2006 has been a year of strange happenings in the Devo camp -- first the Spud Boys reinvented themselves as a tween-friendly pop act called Devo 2.0 with the help of the Disney corporation, and now Jerry Casale, one of the group's founding members, has revamped his persona while overhauling the band's malevolent synth-pop as Jihad Jerry & the Evildoers. In addition to Jerry Casale, Jihad Jerry's debut album, Mine Is ...
