Criminal Automobile Route
$13.45 Collected by Mike Seeger from 1952 to 1967 as he roamed around the Appalachian Mountains, Close to Home is one of the better detailed sets of authentic old-time Southern American music to be found. Though mostly recorded at the musician's home on a single, hand-held microphone, the warmth and charm of the performances captured make up for any supposed lack of recording quality, as Seeger no doubt took great pains to document these archaic stylings before they died with their performers. Of the 38 tracks featured, some legends like Sara and ...
| | Jag Panzer Casting The Stones CD (2004)
Criminal Automobile Route
$9.79 Few bands have had as successful a second chance in the music business as power metallers Jag Panzer (many had no such luck with their first and only chance, come to think of it). Having originally thrown in the towel in 1984, the Denver natives were quietly resurrected an entire decade later, and, with 2004's Casting the Stones, they amazingly arrive at their seventh studio effort since -- quite a heart-warming story, dontcha think? Toss in the fact that, thanks to their consistent and quality output, Jag Panzer are as close to power metal royalty as American bands get (along with Iced Earth), and the precedent for continued excellence is firmly established -- and thankfully delivered -- by almost all of this album. Standout songs like "Feast or Famine," "The Harkening," and "Tempest" instantly and effortlessly rekindle the group's ever-glowing ...

Criminal Automobile Route
$12.69 Once upon a time there was a little girl with big dreams and a broken heart... Born and raised in rural Tennessee, my family were all quite musically gifted, though none had ever sought fame and fortune. My beloved father, Jim McGrath, was a football coach, teacher, and basically a natural at anything he pursued. A proverbial light in the room and a fabulous singer, it was his passion for people and what he believed in that served as my biggest influence. His untimely passing when I was eleven marked the beginning of a series of family tragedies that challenged me throughout my teenage years. Luckily, though, I always had a very strong spirit which filled me with inspiration, allowing me to overcome my trials through writing, singing and acting. Already weathered by being on my own at the age of 17and desperate for direction, I auditioned and was accepted to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. But unfortunately, my financial restraints didn’t allow me to attend. So I put myself through a local Christian University, where I found strength, love and a new outlook on life. Ready to get out and see the world, I graduated in just three years with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting Communications. During my second year in college, I found my true calling after receiving a guitar for my 20th birthday. Everything came to me so naturally with it that I was able to teach myself to play. Soon, I was performing on stage in college with just me and my guitar. It felt like Fate was wrapping his arms around me, whispering that everything would be okay from then on. And it was, for I could always use words to express emotion in a way that people both appreciate and relate to, and now I could use the magic of music to reach out to people in another profound and effective way. And so shortly after graduation, I moved to Memphis, and over the following year, wrote and performed regularly in the city’s numerous blues clubs. Feeling the need to spread my ...
